WEEKLY SUMMARY: Chicago gets 4 out of 6 points at home for the week. A win on the road would be a great week for Chicago.
Bathgate Rangers
WEEKLY PREVIEW: Rangers have 2 tough home games this week – Alamo and Gilbert as we host some Pacific teams. Lately, the Alamo series games have been close and wild, don’t expect anything different this time around.

Alamo Defenders
@
Bathgate Rangers
Stalock and Georgiev score off in the nets for this one. In the opening period, the Rangers fire 16 shots on net at Stalock and 2 of them find the back of it. Sanheim gets the 1st midway through the period – but Jenner counters that for Alamo a New York minute later. But Giroux gets the Rangers 2nd goal with 2 1/2 to go and it’s 2-1 Bathgate after 1.

25 seconds into the 2nd period, ZBad tallies for the Rangers for 3-1 lead. Then with 3 to go, Hischier makes it 4-1! And it’s looking bad for the Alamo. But if you remember the Alamo, they are a good hard fighting team and sure enough the score not 1 but 2 goals in the final 2 minutes of the 2nd. McAvoy, his 1st goal of the year, and Marchand and the 2nd period ends 4-3 Rangers, where did that lead go?

5 minutes into the 3rd, Giroux decides a 2 goal game and 2 goal lead is better than 1 of each and he scores to put Bathgate up 5-3. And it stays that way until the final minute when Alamo brings in the kitchen sink and it works as Stamkos scores with 1 minute left. So, the Defenders will be the valiant and violent attackers for the final minute. It was an assault with Georgiev making 4 big saves and the Rangers blocked 2 more, but somehow they kept the Defenders from scoring in that final minute. It was played entirely in the Rangers end!! Stats were basically even through the game – the Rangers only real advantage was faceoffs winning 57% of them.
STARS: (all BGR)
1. Giroux 2 goals
2. Sanheim 1 goal
3. Zibanejad 1 goal

Gilbert Sharks
@
Bathgate Rangers
The Sharks come swimming into town and the faces James Reimer on one of his really, really good nights. He stops all 26 shots fired at him (and had lots of help from the skaters out front as they block 19 shots). No one could score on a power plays, 2 missed opportunities by the Sharks, 4 by the Rangers.

However, the Rangers did find ways to score. Pionk scores early in the 1st and DeAngelo nets one midway through the 1st as the defensemen do all the scoring damage in the 1st. In the 3rd, Grimaldi puts the icing on the cake early on and Reimer and the defense do the rest in the 3-0 Rangers win!
STARS (all BGR)
1. Reimer 26 saves
2. Grimaldi 1 goal, 1 assist
3. Pionk 1 goal

WEEKLY SUMMARY: Rangers takes advantage of the home ice winning all 4 points. And they hope for the same on the road….

Cincinnati Inferno
WEEKLY PREVIEW: The Cincinnati Inferno have a single game this week and it is a showdown against the Gilbert Shark at The Incinerator.

Gilbert Sharks
@
Cincinnati Inferno
CINCINNATI 4, GILBERT 2

Cincinnati races out to a 2-0 lead in the first eight minutes of the first period and never looks back. Goals by Paul Stastny (8) and Cam Atkinson (2), get things started. A score by Artemi Panarin (21) midway through closes the gap, but a late power play lamplighter by Brayden Point (19) late in the frame — sends the Inferno to the first intermission with a 3-1 edge.

In the second period, Cincinnati extends the lead to 4-1, as Jake Guentzel (7) pots the score. In the third, the Sharks inch closer, as Nathan MacKinnon (20 – 37 seconds in), closes out the scoring.

The story of this game was the power play. Cincinnati was two-for-five with the man-advantage, while Gilbert was stopped in its only chance. The Inferno ended a draught on the power play, where they had scored once in 15 opportunities over the past six games. An adjustment to personnel groups finally paid off.

The shots on goal favored Gilbert, 37-35. Panarin and MacKinnon were the only multiple point collectors in this game (each with a goal and an assist). Connor Hellebuyck picked up the win with 35 saves, while Pavel Francouz took the loss with 31 stops.

WEEKLY SUMMARY: Cincinnati wins its lone game of the week. Next week will feature a four-game set, with three of the contests being played away from The Incinerator. A showdown at Thunder Bay closes out next week.
Gilbert Sharks
WEEKLY PREVIEW: Just one home game this week for the Sharks versus New Jersey

New Jersey Black Aces
@
Gilbert Sharks
Kevin Fiala opens scoring in the first period for Gilbert but Kadri matches him for New Jersey to make it a 1-1 game. That lasted all the way until the end of the 2nd period when Makar finds the back of the net for Gilbert. That would be all Rask needed and Krug adds a goal in the 3rd to give Gilbert a 3-1 win.

WEEKLY SUMMARY: Gilbert takes care of business at home but the road games are not looking too good so far.
LA Great Danes
WEEKLY PREVIEW: 3 of 4 games on the road this week. The lone home game is versus Bathgate

Bathgate Rangers
@
LA Great Danes
LA starts with two quick scoring chances, but Brock Boeser takes a major penalty for charging 2:08 into the game, and the Rangers from the Rangers capitalize – Zibanejad and DeAngelo score on the extended power play. William Nylander gets the Great Danes back with one, and Ivan Provorov takes a double-minor for high sticking, but LA’s power play fizzles and we end period one with the Rangers in the lead 2-1.

LA again starts the period with 2 quick scoring chances and a penalty in the first minute. This time LA kills the penalty, and no scoring in period 2, so it’s still 2-1 Bathgate heading in the third.

In the third, Ivan Provorov takes a 5-minute major for roughing at 5:18. The Danes power play cannot get the job done and the Rangers get a big kill. But LA gains and keeps momentum the rest of the way, but Halak is magnificent and the Danes cannot get one by him. LA has two point-blank chances with about a minute left and the Rangers D helps out with a couple of blocks in the closing seconds, so the Rangers hang on for the 2-1 victory.

SOG in period 3 were 22-1 LA and an 11-2 scoring chance advantage, and another 10 blocked shots by Bathgate in the period. Total domination by the Great Danes, but Halak was better.

Halak was the obvious #1 star with 42 saves, and goal scorers Zibanejad and DeAngelo were the other stars. Honorable mention for LA’s Alex Pietrangelo with a monster game – 6 SOG, 6 takeaways, and 6 blocked shots.

WEEKLY SUMMARY: Good effort at home, but a tough loss. Two weeks before trade deadline, the Danes have been out of contention for some time and are willing to move some pieces to contending teams.
Alamo Defenders
WEEKLY PREVIEW: New Jersey and Toledo visit Alamo this week.

WEEKLY PREVIEW: Two home games against teams on the playoff bubble in Brentwood and Charlotte

Brentwood Bandits
@
Bucks County Raccoons
The visiting Bandits took a 2-0 lead by the halfway mark of the 1st period and Bucks County could get nothing going against Vasilevskiy (33 saves) as Brentwood came away with the 3-1 win on the road.

Charlotte Buzzards
@
Bucks County Raccoons
Bucks County jumped out to a 4-1 lead at the halfway mark of the game, but Eric Gudbranson gave Charlotte life with a double minor followed by a single minor penalty during which Charlotte scored on the PP twice to cut the lead to 4-3. From that point on it was a shooting gallery for the Buzzards as over the final 2 periods they outshot the Raccoons to the tune of 33-13 but Ben Bishop stood tall and the Racs came away with a 5-4 win.

WEEKLY SUMMARY: Two out of four possible points, a bit disappointing, but as coach pointed out on his radio show during the week in response to fans irate with the weekly results, “The other side gets paid too, ya know”….

Toledo Walleye
Toledo 7, LA 4 – A game of runs and rallies. First, LA controls the first 10 minutes. Ehlers scores early to make it 1-0. Later Schenn on the powerplay to make it 2-0. Then the tide turns. Pettersson cuts the lead to 1 before intermission.

2nd period the Toledo run continues to the halfway point as Hoffman gets 2 goals in 10 minutes and the lead switches to Toledo at 3-2. But wait….. now the tide is going out. LA ties it up on a very late goal by Schwartz and we go to intermission at 3-3.

3rd period sees the LA luck continue when they take the lead for the 2nd time, as Pietrangelo scores 8 minutes in. The tide makes one last turn and becomes a tsunami for the home team as Toledo then runs off 4 goals in the final 11 minutes. First van Riemsdyk, a minute later Trochek on the powerplay, and 2 minutes later Pettersson makes it 6-4 Toledo. Nosek adds an empty netter late to make the final 7-4.

Toledo Walleye
Jagr 4, Toledo 1 – Markstrom in net strangles the Toledo attack. While that is happening, the Jagr offense very methodically chips away at the Walleye and make this a very painful game to watch for the home crowd. Bergeron in the 1st with a shortie as the Mullets kill the first of 3 PP for Toledo. In the 2nd its Ovechkin on a deflection. 3rd period Miller makes it 3-0 early. The domination continues as the Walleye flail away, and Toledo finally gets some measure of success when Kucherov scores with 3 mintues left, making it 3-1. Tanev adds an empty netter late when the Walleye go for broke with the extra attacker.

1st star – Markstrom 36 saves
2nd star – Bergeron 1G 2pts
3rd – Miller 1G

WEEKLY SUMMARY: For the week, 8 goals for, 8 goals against, 1 win and 1 loss. Jagr is for real. The Walleye continue to search for answers. Any one want Kucherov for your final push?
