#1 Bucks County Raccoons (50-30-2) vs. #4 California Regulators (42-36-4)
GAME #1 at Bucks County It looked like BC was ready for prime time and the playoffs when Tom Wilson scored 1:24 into the game and give the Raccoons a quick lead. Unfortunately for the home team California scored 6 of the next 7 goals, and then held on in a furious push by the home team to came away with the 6-4 win in game 1 of the series. Staal had 2 goals for the Regulators and Khudobin recorded 44 saves. The Regulators chased Racs starter Ben Bishop 22 minutes into the game by scoring 4 times on 14 shots, and now it looks like BC might have a goal tender issue heading into game 2.

GAME #2 at Bucks County As bad as Ben Bishop was in game 1, (4 goals allowed in 23 minutes), he as just as good in game 2 as the Bucks County Raccoons shut out the California Regulators 1-0 to even the series at 1 game each. This game was a complete reversal from game 1 where both teams ran fast breaks up and down the ice. Jay Boumeester scored the only goal of the gane at 18:03 of the second period, and BC then checked the game away in the 3rd for the much needed win.

GAME #3 at California Sam Reinhart scored 39 seconds into Overtime as the California Regulators defeated the Bucks County Raccoons 2-1 to take a 2-1 lead in this quarterfinals series. Both teams scored on the PP in regulation during the second tight checking game in a row. In an interesting side note, both teams attempted 60 shots on goal and each time had 5 scoring chance, indicative of the teams being relatively even…..

GAME #4 at California The California Regulators shut down the offense of the Bucks County Raccoons and got two timely goals to complete a 2-1 win and take a 3-1 series lead. The Regulators had an astounding 24 SOG in the 2nd period but Ben Bishop was up to the take, which Phillip Grubauer got the start for CAL and faced 17 shots and only 3 scoring chances in the game.

 PREVIEW: With a 3-1 series lead the California Regulators look to close out the series in Bucks County against a team that has scored 3 goals in the last 3 games.

GAME #5 at Bucks County Facing elimination, Bucks County broke open a tie game after 2 periods with 3 goals in the third and staved off elimination with a 6-3 victory. Kevin Hayes had 4 assists for the winners while Andrew Shaw had 2 goals and the Raccoons went 2 for 5 on the PP (although the last one was into an empty net). It was a back and forth game for 2 periods, with 3 lead changes and 2 goals from Barzal of California. But the Racs held on to force game 6 with hopes of returning for a game 7.

GAME #6 at California California shot out to an early lead when Filppula scorfed on the PP at 1:11 of the first period and then scored the next 2 goals enroute to a 4-3 win and clinch the series. The Regulators had a 4-1 lead with 10 minutes to go in the game before a furious BC rally saw them cut the margin to 1, but they could not get the equalizer as California advances to the league semi-finals. BC out shot the home team to the tune of 35-17 but Khudobin was stout in goal in the CAL win.

SUMMARY: Hard fought series between two equal teams as the scores would indicate, California scoring 17 goals to 16 for Bucks County. Onto the next round for the Regulators and early tee times for the Raccoons…..
