Weekly Summary: Gilbert goes 1-1 at home in session 2. It looks like it is going to be a .500 kind of season.
Bathgate Rangers
Weekly Preview: Rangers get 2 home games this week – new comer Cincinnati and division foe Jagr.
Cincinnati Inferno @ Bathgate Rangers Inferno took a long time to fire up the visiting scoreboard so the Rangers took advantage and put up goals in the 1st and 2nd – both by Staal. Sid the no-so-much-a-kid-anymore Crosby gets Cincy on the board 3 minutes into the 3rd shortly after a Bathgate penalty expires when he takes a pass from Johns. Score now 2-1. But halfway through the period Provorov unleashes a hard hit on Montour – who loses the puck, the Inferno lose their poise, and McCann grabs the puck on a breakaway. He goes all the way and then puts a great move on Crawford and beat him like a rented mule. 3-1 Bathgate. 1:54 to go and off goes Crawford – Willaim Karlsson comes on as the extra skater, Nurse gets the puck, to Point – shoots – GOAL. Inferno cut the lead to 3-2. Inferno win the ensuing face-off, Byron shoots, Erik Karlsson the block, but Cincy gets the puck back. Faulk gets it into the Ranger zone, to William Karlsson – weak shot, puck is cleared, Cincy gets it one more time but can’t get into the zone. Final 3-2 Bathgate.

STARS
1. BGR – Staal 2 goals
2. BGR – McCann 1 goal (GWG)
3. CIN – Crosby 1 goal

Jagr Mullets @ Bathgate Rangers Rivalry! Scoreless for 12 minutes, then Provorov scores. 3 minutes later Jagr ties it on a goal from Hall. But 1 minute later Rangers regain the lead when Ferland scores. But 30 seconds later and that Ovechkin fellow scores to make it 3-2 Bathgate.

Then the Rangers took a nap (or the Mullets got tough). Ranger don’t wake up until the post game interviews – maybe they slept through them. This was supposed to be nice openning game for young goalie Georgiev, but instead he learned a few things from the Mullets.

Just passed the middway mark of period 2 – the Mullets tie it up on a goal from Ellis (Ovechkin an assist). But in the 3rd – Georgiev was holding strong UNTIL the final 2+ minutes. Laine steals one from Karlsson, Hall chips it in and Matthews recovers it. It goes back to the point to Rielly, over to Hall, shoots, deflected by Matthews and gets past a sprawling Georgiev, 4-3 Jagr. Then a high point – Georgiev faces a 2 on 1 finished off with a shot from Ovechkin – STUFFED. But going into the final minute, the Rangers pull him and after a couple of shots, Jagr gains control and Linkholm gets a pass from Hall and fires at the empty net and scores with 21 seconds to go for a final 5-3 Jagr win.

STARS:
1. JAG Hall 1 goal 2 assists
2. JAG Matthews 1 goal 1 assist
3. BGR Ferland 1 goal 2 assists

Weekly Summary: 1-1 at home. Could have been worse, could have been better, but it was fun.
Columbus Brew Jackets
Weekly Preview: Bucks County and California come to Columbus for some suds –
Bucks County Raccoons @ Columbus Brew Jackets Game was tight and even for 2 1/2 periods. Perry gets a quick goal for the Raccoons 33 seconds into the game. Kempe scores for Columbus 8 minutes later to tie it up. Then early in the 2nd, Perry scores AGAIN to make it 2-1 Bucks County. But Johnson ties it 8 minutes into the 3rd.
Then the Brew boys drank from the wrong water bottles and got the suds middway through 3 and ended up getting penalties called on them. Edmundson gets nabbed for holding at 10:34 and Benn gets hit for tripping at 16:12. The Racoons responded BOTH times with PP goals – Leddy and Schwartz to sow up the game 4-2. Elliot played strong facing 22-9-13 SOGSTARS: ALL BCR 1. Perry 2 goals, 2. Schwartz 1 goal, 2 assists; 3. Ellitt 40 saves
California Regulators @ Columbus Brew Jackets This game goes down to a shoot-out.
Both teams get 2 goals in the 1st, Couture and Kucherov for Columbus, Schmaltz and Sedin for California in a COL-CAL-COL-CAL pattern. Both teams fail to score in the 2nd as the defenses took over. Then Noesen scores for Columbus to give them the 3-2 lead, but the defense can’t keep it that way as the Regulators fire up their offense late and Barzal gets the tying goal with 2 minutes to go.OT – and 7 shots from California and 4 from Columbus get through to the goalies but none go it so it’s a shoot-out.
Zibanejad fires one past Halek!
Kucherov fires one past Markstrom!
Sedin is stuffed!
Couture fires one past Markstrom!
Reinhart skates over the line, oh, what a move he puts on Halak, he fires, and whoa! Where did Halak come from as he stops the puck and the Brew Jackets win the game.
4-3 (SO)STARS: ALL CBJ 1. Kucherov 1 goal, 1 assist; 2. Couture 1 goal; 3. Noesen 1 goal
Weekly Summary: Two games 1 win and it was OT – team has to get better to get back to the post season, so far they seem to be sleep walking on ice.

Guentzel Gunners @ Bucks County Racoons BC has a two goal lead entering the 3rd period but quickly lose it when Guentzel scores twice on a Kane 4 minute penalty to even the score at 2. Corey Perry unties it off a 3 on 1 breakout and the Jayden Schwartz adds the insurance during a delayed penalty as the Bucks County Raccoons defeat the Guentzel Gunners 4-2. Conner McDavid had a goal and 3 assists to pace all scorers.
Brentwood Bandits @ Bucks County Racoons Brentwood jumps out to a 2-0 lead after one and it looks like it might be an uphill skate for the Racs on the evening, but Bucks County explodes for 2 in second period to tie the score and then 5, count em, 5 goals in the 3rd to pull away with a 7-2 win. Conner McDavid continues his high scoring onslaught with 5 assists, giving him 9 points at home this week.

Toledo Walleye
Weekly Preview: Winless Toledo hopes to get the hometown press off their backs with some victories. Gilbert Sharks and Charlotte Buzzards are in town this week.
Gilbert Sharks @ Toledo Walleye Toledo 3, Gilbert 0 – Since the Toledo offense is somewhat pathetic, Dubnyk takes matters into his own hands with a 30 save shutout of the Sharks. Barrie, Brouwer (SH), and MacDonald provide the scoring to avoid a 0-0 tie. Tyson Barrie in a really bad mood this game, racking up 4 penalties.
1st star – Dubnyk 30 save shutout
2nd star – MacDonald 1g
3rd star – Brouwer SHG
Charlotte Buzzards @ Toledo Walleye Charlotte 2, Toledo 1 – High hopes early as Toledo takes a 1-0 lead into the 2nd period. Toledo throws a barrage of shots at the mighty Ludqvist, but he is a wall the rest of the game, and his teammates throw down 26 blocks, as Larkin and Grabner chip in goals to turn the tide in the visitors favor 2-1.
1st star Lundqvist – 42 saves
2nd – Larkin 1g1a
3rd – Grabner 1g
Weekly Summary: 2 points this week gets Toledo off the Schneid, but not out of the cellar. Offensive woes continue, so look for significant strategy and line alterations.
