Dallas @ Fremont - In their first-ever meeting, Fremont saw Dallas win the first three before regrouping to take the final four games of the series. Brandon Phillips homered four times in the series.

Jersey @ Manhattan - Manhattan takes series 4-3.
Three blowout wins by Jersey.

WP=Robertson

Classic, exciting pitchers’ duel, with a sensational finish.

Game 7: Jersey 9-1
WP=Cueto
LP=Blackburn
Another blowout by Jersey

Iron City @ Valdosta -  The Yinzers take 4 of 6 from the Snappers in Valdosta. A pretty nondescript series really. Rookie Craig Kimbrell saved both of the Snappers' wins and now has saved 13 of Valdosta's 15 wins. He has also won 1 game this year, so he has figured in 14 of our 15 wins

Bay State @ Clovis - One of those strange series, 3 games, a day off, and another three. The first set was all Baystate, Brandon, "The Babe" Crawford rips a triple and three round trippers over the first three games to lead the Minutemen in a three set sweep.

The second set of three was all Clovis, Bailey, Francis, and Penny shut down the Minutemen the final three contests; Penny gets the brass ring however with his 1-0 complete game shutout in the finale.

So it all ends with a six game split for Clovis and Baystate.

Sacramento @ Long Beach - Sacramento takes 6 of 7 from Long Beach. In game 5 the Capitals hit 8 HRs including 5 in the 6th inning.

Camarillo @ Tempe - Tempe splits the six game series with Camarillo. I didn't get a chance to do a write up this week, but it was a great series between two evenly matched clubs. We played the first three games head to head.

Motor City @ Owensboro - Owensboro continues the improbably journey, besting Motor City by a count of 5 games to 2. Waiting any minute for the wheels to fall off this ride (lol).

Game 1 - OWN 3; MCM 2
W - Vazquez (3-3); L - Schlereth (1-1); Sv - Walden (5)
HR: Berkman (4); Napoli (9)
Motor city scored all its runs in the 2nd inning, then stalled out the rest of the game. Both teams had a light hitting day, with only 9 hits being tallied between the 2 squads. Napoli goes 3 for 4.

Game 2 - OWN 5; MCM 1
W - Coleman (1-0); L - Williams (0-6); Sv - none
HR: Berkman (5)
OWN starter Chen heads to the DL with a 17 day injury. Another light hitting day, as MCM manages just 4 hits and OWN, just 7. Williams gives up 5 runs, but only 2 are earned. Rollins is the star of the day, going 3 for 4 in the losing effort for MCM.

Game 3 - MCM 3; OWN 1
W - Karstens (3-5); L - LeCure (1-3); Sv - Guerra (4)
HR: Ordonez (2); Hairston (2)
Karstens is masterful, only giving up 1 ER over 8.1. Young and Ordonez lead the day for MCM with 2 hits each.

Game 4 - OWN 4; MCM 3
W - Wells (3-2); L - Leake (3-4); Sv - Walden (6)
HR: Napoli (10)
OWN survives a ninth inning scare is Motor City plates one to bring the score to 4-3, before Walden finally shuts the door for the save. Hannahan is 3 for 3 for the day.

Game 5 - OWN 8; MCM 6
W - Varvaro (2-0); L - Schlereth (1-2); Sv - none
HR: Andino 2 (1,2); Berkman 2 (6,7)
Both starters (Sanchez and Hamels), absolutely stink up the store in this contest. Andino is 2 for 4 with with 2 HR and 5 RBI. Berkman is also 2 for 4 with 2 HR and 5 RBI (whats the odds of that?).

Game 6 - MCM 10; OWN 0
W - Morton (3-2); L - Vazquez (3-4); Sv - none
HR: Rollins (4); Wallace (2); Flores (1)
After a series of 5 good close games, this one was the stinker of the bunch as MCM clobbers the home squad to the tune of a CG SHO.

Game 7 - OWN 5; MCM 4
W - Ayala (3-0); L - Schlereth (1-3); Sv - Walden (7)
HR: Young (4)
Schlereth loses his THIRD game of the series (yikes). No real outstanding performances in this contest.

Roseville @ West Coast -  From the Field of Dreams in Union City, CA...

The Swing take 4 of 6 from the Thorns. The series is highlighted by a no hitter.

Game 1: Harang (RVT) vs. Gee (WCS). Gee is called up to replace the DL-ed Young and is immediately pressed into action. Both pitchers hurl complete games. Roseville scores an unearned run in the fifth after a Desmond miscue allows Weeks to reach and both Pennington and Davis
single behind him. Nunez gets the first West Coast hit in the seventh
as he swings for the fences to tie it. Desmond doubles to open the eighth for the home team. He advances on a wild pitch and a ground ball by McKenry does the trick. Gee's debut is a winner; Harang takes the hard-luck loss, dropping to 2-3.

Game 2: Beachy (RVT) vs. Floyd (WCS). Beachy (2-3) goes 5.2,
surrendering 4 runs, 3 earned. Floyd (4-1) goes 8 strong, 6 hits and 2 runs, including a McLouth bomb. Zimmerman, Utley, and Trumbo each had 2
hits for the Swing and Kotsay had 2 for the Thorns. Jansen fans 2 of
the 3 hitters he faces for his third save, as the Swing triumph 5-2.

Game 3: Paulino (RVT) vs. Baker (WCS). Baker (3-4) gets shelled, allowing 6 runs in 6.1 innings. Paulino (3-0), though hardly masterful
(7 IP, 4 ER) cruises. Harris, Pennington, Weeks, and Jeff Baker each have 2 hits for the Thorns. Hayes has 3 hits for the visitors and one of Weeks' was a 3-run blast. Victorino had 3/4 of the cycle and Trumbo added 2 hits for the Swing.

Game 4: Masterson (RVT) vs. Rodriguez (WCS). 21 hits in this game.
Masterson (1-6) allows 7 of them and gives up 7 runs in 3.1 IP. Albers follows him with 4 innings of 13 hit "relief", allowing 6 runs.
Hawksworth mops up allowing a 2-run double whilst getting 2 batters out. Pierre and Nunez had 4 had each, with Pierre driving in 5 and scoring twice. Nunez plated only 3, but also scored twice (including a homer). Victorino was 1 for 4. Cuddyer was 1 for 5 with a homer.
Utley was 3 for 5. Desmond was 2 for 5. Bogusevic was 2 for 4.
Teagarden was 3 for 4 with 4 runs and 2 RBI. Rodriguez was 1 for 3 with an RBI double. For the Thorns, Harris and Pennington were both 0 for 4. Weeks and Encarnacion were 0 for 3. Lee was 0 for 4. Wells was 0 for 3. Baker and Gimenez were both 0 for 2. Masterson and Albers combined for 0 for 3. Rodriguez' final line: 9 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 9 K, 4 BB to move to 4-4 on the year.

Game 5: Vargas (RVT) vs. Tomlin (WCS). McLouth leads off the game with a knock, but the Swing enter the runs column first in the second with a double by Cuddyer and a single by Trumbo. Weeks' fly ball in the seventh ties it and then Davis hits Tomlin's next pitch into the bleachers to untie it and make it 3-1. McKenry hits for Tomlin in the home eighth and singles in Desmond to make it a 1-run game and end Vargas' day at 7.1 IP 5 H, 2 ER. Feliz pitches a 1-2-3 home ninth for his 7th save. Vargas evens his record at 3-3. Tomlin falls to 4-3.

Game 6: Harang (RVT) vs. Floyd (WCS). Utley hits a sac fly in the third to drive in Floyd and give the Swing a 1-0 advantage. In the sixth, Cuddyer ruins Harang's (2-4) getaway day with a 3-run monster shot. In the eighth, Lee singles home Pennington and then Hayes hits a pinch homer to close the game to 4-3. Floyd (5-1) heads to the showers, and Jansen gets 4 outs for his fourth save.
