Game-1 BET blow up Vogelsong for 6 runs in 3 innings and easily
cruise to a 9-3 victory. Game-2 CCC breaks out the lumber to outscore BET by a 10-7 final score. Game-3 All pitching in this one. It took 11 innings for each team to reach 4 hits apiece. Fortunately CCC prevailed 2-1. Game-4 Shaun Marcum is dominant as CCC easily wins 5-0. Game-5 Vogelsong redeems himself by hurling 2-hit shutout ball for 8-2/3 innings. He then gave up a solo homer to make it score 2-1. Salas comes on to finish it and is greeted by another solo homer to tie the game. CCC pushes across the winning run in the bottom of the 10th and wins 3-2. Game-6 Garza and Masset combine on a 3-hitter in an 11-0 win. CCC takes the series 5-1. Keith Moreland goes a woeful 4 for 26, but two of the hits were grand slams. Corey Hart and Mark Reynolds each contribute 2 homers to pace the Crusher offense. |

Final Score Chicago 2 - Yonge Street 0 Game #4 - Matt Latos improves to 303 4.60 ERA, as the Stalkers take the middle game. Iron City
- It
didnt' start well for the Yinzers, as they lost two of the first
three to a plucky Motor City club, but Iron City finished by winning
the last four to take the series 5-2. The Yinzers scored just six runs over the first three games while the Muscle scored 16. But Iron City's pitching staff shut the door the rest of the series, allowing Motor City to score just seven runs in the final four games, for of which came in the finale, a 13-4 Iron City blowout. Iron City is now 19-14 on the season, whie Motor City drops to 9-24. |

| Long Beach @ Jersey - The Nor'easters capture a bit of the magic from last year as they take the series 5-1. Jersey held the Dirt Bags scoreless for the first 20 innings winning games 1 and 2 by scores of 3-0 and 7-0. Pavano and Romero with the shutout wins. The Dirt bags took exception to those shutouts and pounded the Nor'easters 10-2 in game 3. Romero wins his second game of the series in game 5 setting up a wild finish to the series. Both team erased large leads in game 6 with the Dirt Bags tying the game 10-10 in the 9th inning. Tempe @ Sacramento
- Sacramento's hitters didn't show up for the series and Tempe
takes a surprising 5 of 6 G1 Cain vs. Verlander - Pitchers dual between each franchises ace. Verlander had a no hitter until the 5th and Cain had a no hitter until the 6th. Tempe scored two on Verlander with a walk, double by Beltre and single by Pedroia. Sacramento threatened in the 9th, scoring one run and putting the tying run at 3B with only one out. Holland recorded his 5th save of the year. Tempe 2-1 G2 Chacin vs. Lee - Tempe's Molina brother tripled in two runs in the 5th. It might have been worse, but Lee got the pinch hitter for Chacin to line into a double play. Tempe’s pen pitched 5 scoreless innings and Holland recorded his 6th save. Tempe 2-0 G3 McCarthy vs. Bedard - Granderson hit a two run homerun in the 3rd. Bedard gave up one more in the 4th, but was able work out of bases loaded jam. Sacramento got on the board in the 5th on a two run single by Pujols. Cano doubled after Pujols, but but Clippard came in and stranded the runners. Granderson picked up another RBI int 6th and Duda had an RBI pinch hit double in the 7th. Tempe 5-2 G4 Cain vs. Lewis - Pedroia went deep in the 2nd as Tempe put three runs on the board. Ruiz capped a 5 run 3rd with a three run homerun. Sacramento finally got on the board in the 8th with a couple singles and a two run rbi double by Willingham. Tempe 8-3 G5 Chacin vs. Verlander - Cano missed an RBI in the 1st when Willingham was thrown out at the plate. Solo shot by Pence in the 4th put Tempe on the board. Tony Plush tied the game with an RBI single in the 5th. In the 8th, Willingham slugged a solo shot off Clippard to give Sacramento their first lead of the series and Mariano closed out the game for the win. Sacramento 2-1 G6 McCarthy vs. Lee - Pence RBI single in the 2nd. Two run HR by Tulo in the 3rd. RBI double by Cabrera in 4th. Solo shots by Youk and Pujols in the 7th made it tighter, but Tempe’s pen held on for the win. Holland with his 3rd save of the series. Tempe 4-2. |

- Cole Hamels went 2-0 with two complete game wins - allowing
just 1 run over 18 innings, however Camarillo grabbed the middle
four to win the series 4 to 2. In game six, Hamels had a perfect game going into the 9th, when Denny Valencia singled to break it up, but Chris Snyder grounded into a double play with the next at-bat (I should have been bunting down by only 1 - but was still in shock I had broken up the perfect game) - and Hamels still ended up facining the minimum of 27 batters. |
