Paul Goldschmidt triples in a run to tie the score. Ben Francisco gives Hollywood a 3-2 lead with an rbi single. Michael Bourne doubles home a run in the 4th to tie the game @ 3. Then in the 5th, Aramis Ramirez hammers a 2-run shot to give Virginia a 5-3 lead. Emilio Bonifacio cuts the lead to 5-4 with a SF in the 6th. Starlin Castro than ties the see-saw affair with an RBI single. Than Hollyoowd takes the lead @ 7-5 when Alex Gordon follows that with a triple. James Loney doubles a run in the 7th to cut that Hollywood lead to 7-6. In the 7th, Hollywood gets a 2-run shot from Drew Stubbs to take a 9-6 lead. Heath Bell loads the bases in the 9th, but gets out if it, picking up save #20. Volquez picks up his 1st win of the year, but more importantly reached 246 MBF, which is 1 batter over he needs to be protected.

Game 3: Cahill vs Buerhle. Hollywood takes the lead in the 4th on a Jay Bruce single. Virginia attempts to tie it in the 5th, but Carlos Santana is thrown out by Drew Stubbs on Jason Bartletts double. However in the 8th, with two runners on, Aramis Ramirez comes up big with a 2-out RBI single, driving in two to give Virginia the 2-1 lead. Emilio Bonifacio ties the game at 2, when he singles in Stubbs with 2-outs in the 8th. Carlos Santana drops a Drew Stubbs popup in the 10th, which gives Hollywood a runner with 1-out. Stubbs promptly steals 2nd. Carlos Pena than delivers the walk-off single and Hollywood wins 3-2.

Game 4: Garcia vs Price. Jay Bruce hammers a homer to give Hollywood a 1-0 lead in the 2nd. Bobby Abreu gives Virginia the 2-1 lead in the 6th when he hammers a homer off Price. Hollywood, trailing 2-1, gets Jay Bruce on, thanks to another Carlos Santana error. Bonifacio pinch runs and immediately steals 2nd base. After a failed bunt attempt by Don Kelly, Starlin Castro singles to put runners at the corners for David Ross (who entered the game after Suzuki was injured on a HBP). Castro than steals 2nd base, forcing the infield in. Guillermo Mota than walks Ross in favor of Edgar Renteria. Hollywood than dips to their bench, in favor of Ian Kinsler. Kinsler hammers a grounder to 3rd, but all Ramirez can do is knock it down and get the out at 3rd, scoring Bonifacio. Than after Drew Stubbs walks, Mota is pulled for Wil Ohman to face Alex Gordon. Gordon topps it out in front of the plate, Ohman reaches it and tosses it home, but not before David Ross slides in before the force play. Arguing ensues, but it's all over as Alex Gordon knocks in the inning run on what's ruled a fielders choice. Hollywood wins 3-2.

Game 5: Cecil vs Kershaw. With Ross still only 'available' and Suzuki down with injuty, Don Kelly is forced into action behind the plate. With Kershaw on the mound, one only hopes that not many runners reach..... Kyle Phillips doubles off Kershaw in the 3rd to give Virginia the 1-0 lead. Alex Cora reaches on a Starlin Castro error, which gives Virginia a 2-0 lead. Bourne makes it 3-0 on an RBI single to left. Brett Cecil out pitches Kershaw as Virginia finally holds on for a win 4-0.

Game 6: Lyles vs Weaver. Bobby Abreu jumps on a Weaver pitch in the first for a 1-0 Virginia lead. Vlad does the same in the 3rd to make it 2-0. Then Weaver is hammered for his 3rd homer of the game when Santana makes it 4-0. Trailing 4-0, Drew Stubbs cuts the lead in half, with a 2-run homer of his own. Than Jay Bruce ties it at 4 with a 2-run homer. Hollywood than jumps out to the lead on a Jason Kubel single, which drives home Gordon. Orlando Hudson homers in the 6th to tie it. The wind must be blowing out today.....that's the 4th homer given up by Weaver today. Carlos Pena gets the run back in the bottom of the 6th with a SF to give Hollywood a 6-5 lead. Starlin Castro commits a critical error in the 8th which allows Virginia to tie the game. Than with 2-outs, Michael Bourne delivers a big 2-run single to get them an 8-6 lead.
