Chicago @ Hollywood - Hollywood and Chicago face off in a series. Last time they faced each other they split in Chicago.

Game 1: Sabathia vs Kershaw. Drew Stubbs doubles home a pair in the 2nd inning to give Hollywood a 2-0 lead. Then after Carlos Pena walks, Emilio Bonifacio singles home the 3rd run of the inning. Chipper gets Chicago on the board with a SF to, scoring Denard Span. Chipper then gives Hollywood back a run when he commits an error in the bottom half which scores Kurt Suzuki. Kershaw goes the distance to pick up win 18, striking out 9 in the process. Hollywood wins 4-1.

Game 2: Moscoso vs Weaver. Ace #2 takes the hill for Hollywood. Chipper gets Chicago on the board first with a solo shot to lead off the 6th. Drew Stubbs ties the game in the bottom of the 7th with a 2-out RBI single, which drives in Starlin Castro. Than, after Stubbs steals 2nd, Carlos Pena hammers a 2-run shot to give Hollywood a 3-1 lead. PH Jim Thome homers in the 9th off Weaver to cut the lead to 3-2. That's where it ends, as Weaver goes the distance in the win, picking up his 20th win of the season.

Game 3: King Felix vs Buehrle. Derek Lee gets the Mobsters out in front with a 2-out RBI single in the 4th, making it 1-0. With 1-out in the bottom of the 6th, Alex Gordon singles home 2 for Hollywood as Gordon then moves to second on Upton's errant throw. Hollywood goes to the pen in the 7th, leading 2-1. They use 3-pitchers to get out of a 7th inning jam. In the 8th, with 2-outs, Andrew McCutchen coxes a walk and scores on Derek Lee's double to tie the game. Then in the bottom of the 9th and Felix still in, with 2-outs, Starlin Castro reachs base and steals 2nd. Paul Goldschmidt pinch hits for Suzuki, but it intentionally walked for Stubbs. Drew Stubbs delivers the big walk-off single and Hollywood wins 3-2.

Game 4: Beckett vs Guthrie. McCutchen gets Chicago on the board in the first with an RBI single. Hollywood is in trouble when Guthrie leaves the game in the 3rd with a shoulder injury and they have to stretch the 'pen. Jeter makes it 2-0 in the 4th with an RBI single off of Javier A Lopez. David Ross cuts the lead to 2-1 in the 8th with a homer off Beckett. Thome hits another PH homer, this one off Heath Bell in the 9th to stretch it back to a 2-run lead.
Beckett goes the distance in the first Chicago win of the series.

Game 5: Carmona vs Price. Alex Gordon doubles in the first, moves to third on a past ball, than scores on a Goldschmidt SF, to give Hollywood a 1-0 lead. Derek Lee hammers a homer in the 4th to tie the game at 1. Upton singles in the 5th, steals second and third and scores on a McCutchen single to give the Mobsters a 2-1 lead. Gordon ties it in the bottom half with an RBI single with 2-outs. Jason Kubel singles to lead off the 7th. Don Kelly pinch runs and steals second and is singled to third by Renteria. Kelly is then knocked in on a Suzuki SF. After Bonifacio singles, Carmona is pulled (pitching a strong 6 1/3). Gordon hammers a SF to left to make it 4-2 Hollywood. Then Goldschmidt hammers a 2-run homer to make it 6-2 Hollywood as Price picks up win 15.

Game 6: Sabathia vs Kershaw. Rematch of game 1. The game is a doozy pitching match as Sabathia and Kershaw are locked in a tight one. Kershaw goes 9 scoreless, giving up just 2 hits in the process, while striking out 8. Sabathia goes 8 strong, striking out 11 before entering the 9th. Sabathia walks Carlos Pena to lead off the 9th. Don Kelly pinch runs and moves to third on Bonifacio's single. With the infield drawn in, with no outs Jay Bruce grounds to second and Walker holds Kelly at 3rd as he gets the out at first. With runners on 2nd & 3rd, Alex Gordon steps in and hammers a walk-off 3-run homer for a 3-0 Hollywood win. Kershaw picks up win 19 in the process.

Hollywood takes 5 of 6 over Chicago. In the process, they give up 10 runs in 6 games to Chicago. The 2 top AL pitching staffs square off and they don't disappoint. Chicago's downfall was their offense, which couldn’t muster the big hit all series when they needed it.
