Hollywood visited the Stalkers for a surprisingly fun series Gm1) A Dave Freese solo shot was the first hit of the game in the btm of the 4th. HOL scored 4 in the top of the 5th. HOL 5-1 Gm2) HOL had seven extra base hits, but it was a mere walk off single from Dave Wright that won it. YSS 6-5 Gm3) Seriously...Hank Conger went 4-4 with a solo HR off Dave Price. Pineda was sharp. YSS 7-2 Gm4) Latos made a tough luck loser of Kershaw. The HOL Co-ace gave up just 2 hits. 1 was a Mike Carp solo shot. YSS 1-0 Gm5) Weaver vs Shields. Both went at least 9. Shields got one out in the 10th, then the defense sharted itself. HOL 3-1 Gm6) Buerhle tossed a CGSO and the HOL offense erupted. 7 guys drove in runs...A. Gordon knocked in 5. HOL 14-0 Splits are never fun...but the teams split a fun series. |

Whiteside missed 1st base on an RBI double, and is called out on appeal to nullify BMM run. Andino has both MCM RBI. - Cain picked up his 20th
and 21st win and Tempe took 5 of 6. G1 - Pedroia slugged two homeruns and Cain surrendered only one hit over six innings. TEM 7-0 G2 - Kendrick broke up a 2-2 tie with HR in the 8th but Tempe got a run back in the 8th and then a walk off RBI single by Tulo in the 9th. TEM 4-3 G3 - Jersey jumped out to a four run lead, Tempe then rallied for six, but Teixeira slugged a two run hr to cap a three run 7th. Tempe loaded the bases in the 8th but Burnett sneaked out of the jam and ended Tempe's 24 game winning streak. JNE 7-6 G4 - Thames launched a two run hr in 6th and put Jersey up 2-1. Beltre gave Tempe the lead with a two run HR and Holland recorded a two inning save. G5 - Escobar hit a solo HR in the 1st and another solo late in the game for Jersey, but Tempe prevailed behind another strong outing by Cain. TEM 7-5 G6 - McCarthy and the pen shutout Jersey. TEM 3-0 |
