Fremont @ Tijuana - Fremont bookends two Luebke victories around 4 Tijuana wins, dropping the series 4-2. The final game ended with David deJesus nailing Justin Upton at home plate for what would have been Tijuana's tying run.
 
Pittsburgh @ Southbend - Southbend continues to pay well at home taking the series 4-2 over Pittsburgh.

Some highlights:

Game 72: Southbend losing 4-2 in the bottom of the 8th strike for 6 runs by stringing together some
singles, aided by some Pittsburgh errors, and capped by a Lowrie 2-run HR. SBL 8, PIT 4.

Game 73: All Pitt's E. Santana as he gives up only 1 run in 8 innings. Tabata has big hit, a 3-run HR
in the 4th. PIT 4, SBL 1.

Game 74: SBL Holland is tough through 6 giving up on 1 run. SBL offense gives him more than
enough runs with a 4 run 6th. Morse hits his 16th HR, Altuve his 1st. SBL 8, PIT 2.

Game 75: Final score is deceptive as SB had the game in control all the way. SBL got out to a 7-2 lead
after 5 innings. Morse has 2 run-HR in the 1st, Wood hits his 1st HR in the 2nd, Huff 2-run HR in the
5th account for most of the scoring. The game gets somewhat close before Motte saves it for SBL.
SBL 8, PIT 5.

Game 76: This was the J.McDonald show as he gives up only 1 hit and no runs through 8 innings. PIT gets
him a run in each of the first 3 innings for a 3-0 early lead. Alvarez, Kemp, and M.Izturis hit homeruns for PIT.
SBL get their token runs on a 2-run HR by Morse in the 9th. PIT 5, SBL 2.

Game 77: SBL gets the first run in the 1st on a Wigginton sac fly. Collmenter(PIT) and Harrison(SBL) trade
scoreless innings through the 6th. In the SB 7th Morse 1bs and Wigginton hits a 2-run HR for a 3-0 SBL lead.
It would prove to be key as Ethier hits a 2-run HR in the PIT 8th. But SBL Putz and Motte close out the game
for the win and a 4-2 series win. SBL 3, PIT 2.

SBL M.Morse has a big series: 7-24, 5 runs, 7 rbi, 1-2b, 3-HR.
 
Elyria @ Coconut Creek - Memorial Day brings joy and hope to the Crusher fans as the home squad wins every game in which they scored.
Lots of timely homeruns to pull out late wins for the Crushers.
Elyria tosses 2 shutouts for their only 2 wins.   CCC wins a tough series 5-2.
 
Severn @ Bethesda - Severn massacres Bethesda including 13 runs off Brian Matusz in the 1st inning of his first start for Bethesda. Ouch!
 
Virginia @ Yonge Street - YSS hosts VIR

Gm1) HR's by Ramirez and Guerrero back Garcia. VIR wins 8-2.
Gm2) HR's by Ramirez and Stanton back Danks. VIR wins 4-1.
Gm3) Heyward is hurt for 13 games. YSS walks off in the 14th. YSS wins 6-5.
Gm4) HR's by Stanton, Hudson, Laporta back Scherzer. VIR wins 10-2.
Gm5) 2 in the top of the 10th holds up. VIR wins 6-4.
Gm6) Esmil Rogers took one for the team. The Sluggers slug 30 hits. VIR wins 21-3.

A fitting series. YSS loses Heyward for 13 games in their lone winning effort of the series.
 
Detroit @ Hollywood - Hollywood hosts Detroit

Game 1: Detroit wants a win, so they throw the big gun at Hollywood. Ryan Sweeney gives Strasburg the 1-0 lead with an RBI double in the first. It stays that way into the 7th when Alex Gordon knocks his second double of the game, than after Jhonny Peralta's error. Hollywood ties it and Starlin Castro ends up on 2nd base. Than with 2-outs, Kurt "don't call me Ichiro" Suzuki gets them the lead with an RBI single to right. Strasburg than pitches to 1-batter too long, as Colby Rasmus hammers a 2-run homer to make it 4-1 Hollywood. Heath Bell gives up 1 in the 9th, but Hollywood holds on to win 4-2.

Game 2: As in game 1, Sweeney gets Detroit out to a 1-0 first inning lead with an RBI double. Jay Bruce hammers a 2-run shot in the bottom half to give Hollywood a 2-1 lead. Ross Gload ties it at 2 with a double in the second. Cameron Maybin than makes it 3-2 Detroit in the 3rd with a solo shot. Ian Kinsler hammers a 2-run shot in the 4th for a Hollywood 4-3 lead. Hollywood breaks it open in the 8th to win 8-3.

Game 3: Hollywood sends 4-grade Edison Volquez to the mound to hope catch lightning in a bottle. Volquez pitches admirably. Hollywood trails 4-0 at one point, but close the gap to 6-4 before losing 9-5.

Game 4: David Price and Edwin Jackson are locked in a pitchers battle. Ben Francisco singles in the 4th to give Hollywood the 1-0 lead. Heath Bell picks up the save as Hollywood wins 1-0.

Game 5: Maybin homers in the first off Clayton Kershaw to lead 2-0 early. Hollywood gets on the board in the 5th with a solo shot. After Alex Gordon ties the game in the 6th with a force out, Starlin Castro gives Kershaw the lead with an RBI single. Kershaw leaves after going 8 2/3 for Bell. Bell can't hold the lead, giving up a double to the first batter he meets. Then Detroit adds one in the 11th and wins 4-3.

Game 6: Ichiro singles home the first run of the game in the 5th to give Detroit a lead. Hollywood ties it in the bottom half on a double by Rasmus. It stays that way into the 11th when Alex Gordon walks off with the win for Hollywood 2-1.

Hollywood takes 4 of 6.
 
Dallas @ Chicago - Dallas comes into the Windy City for some American League Action:
Game #1 - Felix Hernandez improves 9-5  2.64 ERA, but it's costly for the Mobsters as Desmond Jennings goes down for 13 days.
Game #2 - the Cougars come out on top in this high scoring affair.  Emilio Bonifacio goes 3 for 5 with a HR, 3 RBI's a SB and becomes the Mobsters Nemesis.
Game #3 - Jason Varitek sigle handedly beats the Mobsters goes 4 for 5 with a 2B, HR, 3 RBI.  David Bush imrpoves to 1-1  1.35 ERA on the year.
Game #4 - C.C. Sabathia stops the losing streak at two.  3 RBI's by B.J. Upton & Sean Rodriguez lead the way.  Sabathia now sits at 9-3 with a 2.53 ERA
Game #5 - Andrew McCutchen goes 3 for 5 with a HR and 3 RBI's, Fausto Carmona improves to 4-1 with a 3.62 ERA.   Delmon Young HR's and 3 RBI's as well. Another costly injury as Chipper Jones knee swells up and sidelines him for 7 days.
Game #6 - King Felix holds court and goes 9 solid, allowing 2 hits, McCutchen goes 3 for 5 and drives in two.
Game #7 - Delmon Young drives in all 4 runs and Chicago wins the last one in the series.
 
Camarillo @ Motor City - Camarillo comes to town and Ruins Motor City's holiday weekend by taking 5 of 6. two extra innings games (the last two) make it imperative that Motor CIty's starters goe deep into the games in their next series. Bautista, Votta, and Aybar were the stars for CAM.

Gm 1: 3-2 CAM; WP--Saunders LP--Leake SV--Casilla Bautista and Votto hit back-to-back solo shots in the 7th, Aybar give CAM the lead with an RBI 2B in the 8th. Young and Wallace had RBI for MCM.

Gam2: 8-3 CAM; WP--Dickey LP--Sanchez. Votto 3 RBI. Boesch solo HR. Young 2-R HR for MCM.

Gm 3: 10-3 CAM WP-Fister LP--Morton; THis one got ugly in a 5-run 6th inning. Fister even got int othe act with aa hit and RBI. two HRs in 9th made it a laugher. Rollins 3 RBI for MCM.

Gm 4: 9-1 CAM; WP--Lohse LP--Blanton. Bautista 2 HRs Rollins solo HR for MCM.

Gm 5: 6-2 MCM: WP--Karstens LP--Wilson. Rollins 2-R HR

Gm 6: 5-3 CAM (15 INN) WP--Mujica LP--Williams. MCM ties the game in bottom of the 9th on a clutch RBI 1b by Ordonez, but can't push the winner across. Crawford settles things with a 2-R HR in the 15th.

Gm 7: 2-1 CAM (11 INN): WP--Wade LP--Pelfrey SV--Casilla. Sanchez pitches well, but MCM offense stays cold. CAM offense must have been tired from circling the bases in previous 6 games. Votto and Aybar had RBI for CAM
 
Iron City @ Roseville - Game 1 – Linecum vs Vargas
Pennington homers in the bottom of the 1st. Murphy ties it up with a HR in the 5th. McLouth leads off the 6th with a solo shot to give Roseville a 2-1 lead. Roseville holds on to win the 1st game 2-1.

Game 2 – Hanson vs Harang
Iron City puts 3 runs on the board in the top of the 1st. Cozart and Encarnacion hit solo homers in the bottom of the 1st. Andrus goes deep in the 4th to put Iron City up 4-2. Back to back doubles by Roseville in the 6th cuts the lead to one. Iron City adds one in the top of the 9th and closes out the game 5-3.

Game 3 – Westbrook vs Beachy
Hosmer smacks a 2 run shot in the 1st to give Iron City a 2-0 lead. Lee’s 2 run shot in the 2nd tied it up. Iron City adds 2 in the 3rd to go up 4-2. A bases loaded single in the 3rd by Encarnacion, with an error, and Roseville takes a 5-4 lead. Roseville adds another, and Iron City answers with 2 in the 6th to tie the game at 6-6. The score stays the same until the bottom of the 14th when Encarnacion drives in the run to win it for Roseville.

Game 4 – Maholm vs Paulino
With 6 early runs for support, Maholm goes the distance and Iron City cruises to a 9-2 win.

Game 5 – Hellickson vs Masterson
Two Roseville errors in the 3rd help Iron City to a 4-0 lead. Roseville cuts the lead to 1 with 3 in the 6th. Wells ties it up with a solo HR in the 7th. Iron City adds 3 in the 8th and 9th to win the game 7-4.

Game 6 – Linecum vs Vargas
Iron City gets 1 run on the board in the 3rd. That’s all Linecum needs as he goes the distance and Iron City wins the game 1-0.

Iron City takes the series 4-2.
 
Bay State @ Manhattan - Bay State 5-2 over Manhattan—home runs, home runs

Really settled in the 2d inning, when Bay State scored 6 on Spilborgh’s HR, plus wild pitches, errors and sloppy play.

Manhattan’s Hairston scores on Hill’s RBI. Manhattan 1-0

Bay State goes 3 ahead in the 7th aided by 3 walks. Bay State 6-3
Jackson adds a useless HR in the 9th. Bay State 6-4.

Lopez RBI scores 1 for Bay State in the first. Bay State 1-0
2d inning: Johnson walks and ends up scoring on Shoppach’s RBI. Bay State 2-0

Bay State evens it up in the 9th with Gwynn stealing 2nd and 3rd, then home on sac fly. Tie 3-3
Dirks RBI put Bay State ahead in the 15th. Bay State 4-3
