Yonge Street @ Pittsburgh - Pittsburgh nearly pulls off the sweep of Yonge Street in a hotly contested series.

Chicago @ Southbend  - Southbend manages a 3-3 split with powerful Chicago.   Southbend had a chance for a 4-2 series win but Chicago scored 6 in the top of the 9th of the final game to take a 12-6 win.

Fremont @ Virginia  - A miracle...Virginia SWEEPS a series!!!

Gm.1 VIR 9-4 M.Stanton doubles and homers to collect 5 RBI and power VIR's win.
Gm.2 VIR 7-2 Stanton with 2 more RBI and LaPorta goes yard.

Gm.4 VIR 5-3 Scherzer hangs tough. Vlad 3-4 2 RBI.
Gm.5 VIR 3-2 B.Cecil goes the distance for win. Using 3 of thier 4 hits in the 3rd, Sluggers score 3 runs.
Gm.6 VIR 8-5 13 innings. Tied at 4 after 9 Fremont goes ahead in 13th. But a Gtrand Slam by A.Ramirez wins it for VIR.

Hollywood @ Dallas - When your best hope to put out the other teams offensive fire power is a Bush your doomed to failure. Dave Bush pitched a complete game in game 5 allowing only 1 run but still lost, 1-0. The Werewolves tear into the Cougars and win all 7 games. While Hollywood was mashing its way through the first four games it seemed like Varitek was the only one doing anything at the plate for Dallas as he hit a 2 run homer in game two and a 3-run homer in game three.

Detroit @ Bethesda - Detroit takes 5 of 7 against Bethesda.

Tijuana @ Coconut Creek - The Crushers blast there way to a total of 2 runs after 3 games. Amazingly, we actually won 1 of those games.
We then REALLY open up our offense and score 4, 4 and 4 to complete our reign of terror on Tijuana's poor pitchers.
To everyone's amazement, the Crushers won the final 2 games to earn a 3-3 split.

Severn @ Elyria - Elyria ends up splitting the 6 game series w/Severn when Severn scores 6 time in the top of the 9th to take the final game. All Elyria could do is taste the 4-2 series.

Manhattan @ Long Beach - Manhattan comes west and takes 4 of 7 from Long Beach.

Iron City @ West Coast -  From the Field of Dreams in Union City, CA...

The Yinzers come west and split 3 of the first 6. It comes down to the rubber game....

Game 1: Maholm (IRN) vs. Gee (WCS). Eric Hosmer has 3/4 of the cycle (missing the homer), 2 RBI and 1 R. Maholm (5-6) pitches 6 innings of no-hit ball for Iron City and is lifted one out in the sixth when trouble arises. His final line is 6.1 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 7 K, 5 BB.
Ziegler gets 8 outs for the save. Gee (1-4) gives up 3 in 5 IP.

Game 2: Hellickson (IRN) vs. Huff (WCS). The Yinzers strike early, scoring 2 in the first, aided by an unearned tally. The Swing tally twice in the bottom of the second. Cuddyer hits a two-run shot in the fifth to give the Swing a 4-2 advantage, but Alex Rios answers in the sixth to retie it. The Swing score a single tally in the bottom half, but Reimold answers in the eighth against Soria. In the top of the ninth, Fox hits for Ibanez against Perkins and doubles home Hosmer (who was 3 for 5 in the game). Cordero allows a hit and a walk in the bottom half, but does not allow the tying run for his 16th save. Byrdak (3-1) gets the win and Perkins (1-2) the loss. Trumbo and Desmond both went 3 for 4 for the Swing.

Game 3: Lincecum (IRN) vs. Rodriguez (WCS). The teams traded zeroes into the fifth, when Andrus booted Desmond's grounder to open the home half. After he swiped second and Utley grounded out, Teagarden doubled home a run. Bogusevich walked and Rodriguez popped out. Pierre singled home Teagarden for two unearned tallies against Lincecum. In the seventh, Reimold hits a solo shot in a pinch, but Perez restores order.
Soria (7) pitches the last two innings for the save. Rodriguez (6.1 IP,
3 H, 1 ER, 5 K, 2 BB) moves to 7-5, whilst Lincecum's hard luck loss (4 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 5 K, 1 BB) drops him to 8-5.

Game 4: Hanson (IRN) vs. Tomlin (WCS). The Swing's Desmond starts the home first with a triple and scores on Victorino's ground out. Tomlin pitches into and out of trouble, until the 5th. Callaspo opens the inning with a solo blast. Then, Hanson and Andrus single. They move up on a ground ball. Car-Go fans, but Martinez singles to give the Yinzers the 2-1 lead. Lindstrom takes over for Tomlin (4.2 IP, 11 H, 4 ER, 0 K,
1 BB). Murphy singles to make it 3-1. Ibanez' single makes it 4-1.
Hosmer's pop out ends the damage after 9 men come to the plate. The Swing scratch back for 1 in the bottom half and tie it on a Torrealba double in the sixth. Hosmer's RBI double against Lindblom in the seventh gives the lead back to Iron City, but V-Mart's throwing error in the 8th leads to 2 unearned tallies for West Coast. Perkins starts the ninth and fans 1 and walks another. When Nady is sent in to hit for Pridie, Perez is summoned from the West Coast 'pen to get the last 2 outs for his 7th save. Lindblom (2-0) is the winner and Ziegler (1-1) gets the undeserved loss. Desmond was 4 for 5 (a homer short of the cycle); Andrus was also 4 for 5 (all singles). Murphy and Nunez each went 3 for 4 for their teams.

Game 5: Westbrook (IRN) vs. Floyd (WCS). Westbrook appears in his first game of the season and pitches well, except for the sixth, when the Swing tally 4 and bat around. He ultimately went 7. Floyd pitches brilliantly (perhaps pitcher-of-the-week so?): 9 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 6 K, 2 BB to go to 9-2 on the campaign. Torrealba was 3 for 4 and Zimmerman was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI.

Game 6: Maholm (IRN) vs. Millwood (WCS). The Swing strike first with a homer in the bottom of the first by Cuddyer. The Yinzers answer with back-to-back blasts by Ibanez and Hosmer in the second. They get an insurance run in the fifth thanks to Andrus singling home Hosmer. That turned out to be useful as Cuddyer singled home Young in the bottom half. In the sixth, the Swing tied it with Nunez driving Cuddyer home.
After Bogusevich hits for Millwood (8 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, 3 K, 1 BB) in the home eighth, Perkins starts the ninth. He walks Reimold, gives up a hit to Hosmer and then a 2-run double to Callaspo. Perez is called upon to restore order and does, but too late. Maholm (8 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 5 K, 2
BB) evens his record and Cordero gets save 17, despite giving up a double to Trumbo in the bottom half. Perkins drops to 1-3. Hosmer goes
3 for 3 and scores 3. Cuddyer is 3 for 4 (a triple short of the cycle) with 2 runs and 2 RBI.

Game 7: Hellickson (IRN) vs. Gee (WCS). The Yinzers start their third with a walk to Andrus and one to Callaspo. Car-Go singles home Andrus and Pierzynski doubles home Callaspo and Car-Go for a 3-0 advantage.
The Swing get one back in the fifth when Cuddyer singles home Desmond.
In the eighth, Desmond's miscue leads to two unearned tallies to extend the Yinzers' lead to 5-1. Hellickson allows a one-out double in the ninth. So, Byrdak is summoned. After fanning Desmond, he allows a two-run blast to Nunez. However, Cuddyer fans to end the series on a low note for the Swing. Hellickson (8.1 IP, 8 H, 2 ER, 4 K, 4 BB) rises to 3-4, whilst Gee (5 IP, 3 H, 3 ER, 2 K, 3 BB) falls to 1-5.

In anticipation of the trip up I-80 to Sacramento, the Swing recalled Scott Baker from its minor league affiliate and sent down Kevin Millwood after the series.

Bay State @ Roseville - Roseville and Baystate split their series.

Clovis @ Motor City- Clovis and Motor City split a six game series.

Gm 1: 6-1 CWK; Reyes has four SB (7 SB for Clovis in the game) along with 2 hits. Belt goes 2-4 with 3 RBI. J. Wilson homers. WP--Francis LP--Karstens

Gm 2: 6-5 MCM; 3 more SB for Clovis, but even with homers by Cairo and Bard, they can't hold off MCM. Crowe goes 4-5 with 2 RBI, Andino with 2 more RBI. WP--Guerra LP--Atchison

Camarillo @ Valdosta - The Quest somehow mange to win only 4 games outscoring the powerhouse Snappers 39-20. Valdosta won game 6 on a 2 out PB in the bottom of the 9th. Rookie Craig Kimbrel (5-3-18, 2.17)picked up a win and a save for the Snappers and is the only guy that has a clue how to pitch on this squad.

Sacramento @ Jersey - A victory of sorts for the Jersey Nor'easters. In a rematch of last year's NL Championship series the teams split the six games. Jersey hung tough in the 1st 4 games winning 3 of them. All close games, 2-1,1-0, 2-1, and 3-1, pretty suprising as Jersey's pitching is thin this year. In games 5 and 6 Sacremento flexed their muscles winning 7-0 and 10-2.

Owensboro @ Tempe - Owensboro won two of the first three, but Tempe rallied to win the last four games. Adrian Gonzalez’s consecutive hit streak ended after game four. His 28 straight games with a hit put him tied for second on the all time list. Luis Castillos holds the record at 39 games. Highlight of the series was Tulo’s three homeruns and 8 RBI in game four.
