Virginia @ Pittsburgh - Pittsburgh splits with Virginia.

Southbend @ Coconut Creek - The Coconut Creek Crushers deflate the Southbend Lynx a little as they take the series 4-3.   Southbend loses a heart breaker in the first game after scoring 6 runs in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game then having Damon hit his 2nd HR of the game off Motte in the 10th for the eventual game winner. Holland dominates for Southbend in the 2nd game with a CG Shutout. Southbend gets another good start from Niese and wins  game 3 with the help of HRs from Morse and Moustakas. Game 4 is all CC's Marcum as he tosses a CG shutout. Game 5 is a nail bitter as CC holds on for a 3-2 win as  SB puts a run accross in the 9th. Game 6 is a CC 9-5 win as the Crushers swat 4 HRs.  SB Holland salvadges the series as he tosses another strong game giving up only 2 hits in 6.2 innins for a 4-1 SBL win. Brutal loss for CC as they lose Hart (11 days), Gentry (10 days), and A.Gonzalez (2 days) to injuries in the game.

Elyria @ Chicago - Elyria comes into Chicago and dashes the hopes of the Mobsters.

Tijuana @ Severn - Tijuana wins 4 of 7 at Severn.

Fremont @ Detroit - No News from Detroit.  (No File Either)

Yonge Street @ Hollywood - Hollywood hosts Yonge Street

Game 1: Jered Weaver goes 7 scoreless to improve to 9-2 and a 1.26 ERA in the 8-1 rout. Hollywood wins.
Game 2: Jeremy Guthrie and Edison Volquez are pounded for 5 homers in the 11-4 Stalker route.
Game 3: James Shields is outstanding for Yonge Street in their 5-1 victory.
Game 4: David Price led the Hollywood pitching way in the 4-0 shutout. Price improves to 6-3.
Game 5: Jay Bruce homers to start the scoring, than Carlos Pena delivers a grand slam. That was may more runs than Clayton Kershaw would need. Leading 13-0 in the 6th, Hollywood is tempted to pull Kershaw, but he has a no hitter. He loses the no-no to David Wright leading off the 8th and is pulled. Hollywood wins 13-6. Yonge Street only scored that many cause I needed Edison Volquez to do some mop up work.
Game 6: Jered Weaver wasn't stellar, but he was good enough for win 10. Hollywood wins 7-2

Bethesda @ Dallas  - Game 1
The Cougars break a 1-1 tie in the 7th when Emaus scored on a throwing error by Mather then add insurance runs on a sac fly and RBI single Dobbs. Dallas wins game one, 4-1.

Game 2
The first 6 hitters for Bethesda got hits in the first inning, but one was thrown out trying to stretch a double into a triple and the Bandicoots were quickly ahead 4-0. By the third inning the Cougars had tied the game at 4 thanks to two home runs by Varitek. Helped by an error by Ellis, a walk, and three hits Bandicoots leaped back ahead by 4 runs. The two bullpens keep the game in check and Bethesda takes game two, 8-4.

Game 3
Wells hits a 2 run homer in the first for Bethesda and in the bottom of the first the Cougars cut the lead in half by a single from Rivera. The Bandicoots extend the lead by two in the third when Davis doubles home two and they hold to win, 4 – 2.

Game 4
An exciting affair as the teams exchanged leads 5 times. Jay gets the scoring started when he hits a solo home run in the top of the 2nd for Bethesda. Two home runs in the bottom of the third by Stubbs and Sanchez gave Dallas a 2 to 1 lead, but it didn’t make past the next half inning. In fact the Cougars would lose the lead before they even recorded an out. First the Bandicoots tie the game in the 4th on a ribbie-single by Johnson then Hernandez doubles home two more. Finally Laird singles home the last run of the inning giving Bethesda a 5 to 2 advantage. In the 6th Dallas scores 3 times to tie the game at 5. Ellis walks with the bases loaded and then Lewis singles home two. In the 7th the Bandicoots retake the lead on a bases loaded walk to Sizemore and the Cougars tied the game in the bottom of the 7th when Sanchez came to the plate, “And the pitch ... a blast to right ... way back ... it's gone! ... Gaby ties the game! he just went with the pitch BANDICOOTS 6, COUGARS 6 So they collect a big two-out solo homer ... his 2nd home run of the game his 10th home run of the season ... and the COUGARS have tied this game! just listen to that crowd! “ Neither team could score in the 8th or 9th so we went to extra innings. Dallas got a big lift from reliever Wright who came into the game in the 8th and pitched the last 6 innings for the Cougars. Martinez delivers the clutch two out hit in the 13th to help Dallas even the series at 2 games apiece as the Cougars win 7 to 6.

Game 5
Another extra inning game, but this one was dominated by the pitchers. In the top of the 5th with two outs Mather doubles home a run to give the Bandicoots a 1 nothing lead. It could have been more, but earlier in the inning Dallas CF, Bonifacio threw a runner out at the plate. Bonifacio would later tie the game in the 7th for Dallas with a two out double of his own. In the 11th the first three Bethesda hitters reached and the Bandicoots took the lead with a sac fly from Johnson. It would prove to be enough as Bethesda closer Storen kept the Cougar offense in check. Final score: Bandicoots 2, Cougars 1

Game 6
Dallas scores in the 2nd on two-out single by Jackson. The Cougars would extend their lead to 3-0 in the 4th on a throwing error by Bandicoots 2B, Nishioka and a double by Ellis. Bethesda ties the game in the 6th on a single by Jay and a double by Snider. Looked like we were heading to a 3rd straight extra inning game until Bonifacio came up to hit with one out in the bottom of the 9th and Jackson on first after a walk, “The pitch ... hooked down the right field line ... will it stay fair? ... yes! it's in play the ball rolls down the line ... SNIDER scoots for it ... he has it ... JACKSON rounds third .. they're waving him in … here comes the throw home … here's the play at the plate ... and JACKSON's ... SAFE!...on a close play ... the run scores! oh, close call ... the gamble pays off … And that's it! ... the COUGARS have won it!” Dallas evens the series at 3 games winning game 6 by a score of 4 to 3.

Game 7
In the 2nd Laird delivered a two out run scoring single to give the Bandicoots a 1-0 lead, but it was short lived as Dallas scored two in the bottom of the 2nd on a two out single by Bonifacio and a bases loaded walk to Doumit. The Cougars extend their lead by a run in the 7th on a single by Rivera. In the 8th the Bandicoots scored a run when Doumit had a passed ball on a strike 3 pitch to Brantley and then Bethesda tied the game on a double play. Both teams were held scoreless in the 9th so the two teams again went into extended play. With two outs and a runner on 2nd Hernandez came to the plate for the Bandicoots in the top of the 11th frame, “ LOPEZ looks back at JAY on second ... LOPEZ kicks and deals ... bounced slowly up the middle BETANCOURT can't reach it ... neither can ELLIS it's through ... JAY's well around third … they're waving JAY in … here comes the throw home … HERNANDEZ's going for second JAY scores ... JACKSON cuts it to second ... and he's ... OUT!...on a close play … the firstbase coach was waving him on” The Cougars couldn’t do anything in the bottom of the 11th and Bethesda wins the rubber game match by a score of 4 to 3.

Sacramento @ Iron City - The Yinzers breathe some life into their season by taking 5 of 6 from Sacramento. The highlight of the series: Tim Lincecum's no-no in Game 4.

Motor City @ Bay State  - Minutemen take the first two then Motor City flexes their Muscle and take the next four.

Long Beach @ West Coast - From the Field of Dreams in Union City, CA...
The Long Beach Dirt Bags come north to visit the Swing and take 4 of 6.
Former Swing 1B hit a grand slam against his old 'mates. Shane Victorino hits 3 jacks in the series and Juan Pierre was 0 for 4 on the basepaths against the Long Beach batteries.

Roseville @ Camarillo - Camarillo takes 5 of 7 versus Roseville - all but 1 games was decided by 1 or 2 games. Roseville my run out of starting pitching at some point, but they should win a lot more games in the coming weeks. Note their 15 loses by 1 run so far.
Bautista hits 14th homer of the year and starting to get his bat going. Look out!

Valdosta @ Clovis - Valdosta heads west to Clovis for seven games. The Snappers had it working for the first two games, taking them by 3-1 and 4-1 scores. Oddly, both Clovis runs came as the result of a couple of Peter Bourjos solo homers. The next five all fell to Clovis, but the highlight of the series had to be game 6 when Todd Frazier blasted a three run homer to seemingly tie the game at 4 apiece, however, Mark Hamilton thought the ball had been caught and Frazier inadvertently passed him on the base path. When the arguing was done and the dust had settled Frazier was credited with 2 RBI and a single, as well as the ignominy of making the third out on a home run. Clovis took advantage of the reprieve, Wilson shut the door over the final two innings to give Clovis the strange 4-3 win.

Tempe @ Jersey - It appears Chris remembers his heart-breaking loss to the Nor'easters in last years playoffs. I think he just got even. Tempe sweeps Jersey in a 7 game series including 2 wins by the scores of 21-1 and 18-1. I'm pretty sure the Nor'easters will be watching the playoffs on TV this year.
