Tijuana @ Elyria - Elyria splits with Tijuana

Fremont @ Coconut Creek - Fremont jumped out and grabbed games 1 & 2. CCC battled back to get games 3 & 4. We then split the last two and the series.

Stud performers and candidates for player of the week are:

Freddy Sanchez...13 for 24 .542 avg, 6 runs, 4 RBI and an amazing 8 doubles.
Jamie Moyer....Complete game 3 hitter. No walks and only faced 29 batters.

Buffalo @ Virginia - Buffalo comes a visitin'...and leaves with only 2 wins as VIR takes series 4-2.

Gm.1 VIR 10-9 A.Ramirez single in bottom of 10th is game winner. 13 hits for each team.

Gm.2 VIR 10-8 Vlady's 3-run blast in 6th puts VIR up 10-7. Helton has 4 RBI. 14 hits for each team.

Gm.3 BUF 8-6 Braves' Overbay and Catalanotto combine for 4 RBI. Still no pitching...Braves-15 hits. Sluggers-13 hits.

Gm.4 VIR 4-3 Braves' Wakefield goes the distance but loses it on a SF in the bottom of the 9th.

Gm.5 VIR 4-1 He's still got something left. Pettitte gets the CG win on a 5-hitter. Vlady's 3-run double in 1st is the big blow.

Gm.6 BUF 12-7 Overbay with a 2-5, 4 RBI performance and Berroa's 2-run home run lead Buffalo to the win. 25 hits in game.

This is what happens when pitchers take a series off...134 hits and 82 runs in 6 games.

Chicago @ Canton - The Mobsters came loaded for Injuns, and got 5 of 6. Two were squeakers.

Hollywood @ Detroit - Detroit and Hollywood split

Severn @ Yonge Street  - Severn visits YSS

Game 1 - Brandon Webb was masterful. CG, 4H, 0BB, 8K. Former Stalker Morneau led the way with a HR & a 2B, for 4 RBI. A-Rod had a solo shot. SEV wins 8-1.

Game 2 - YSS scores 3 in the 7th to take a 4-3 lead. SEV scores on a deep Sac Fly foul ball to tie it at 4 in the 9th, but Ryan Freel has the GW hit in the 11th. YSS wins 5-4 in extras.

Game 3 - Severn jumps out to a 7-0 lead, paced by a Billy Hall 3R HR. A Jim Edmonds solo HR puts YSS on the board in the 6th. YSS scores the last 5 runs, but comes up just shy. SEV holds on to win 7-6.

Game 4 - Nick Johnsons 2R double, was the biggest blow, but David Wrights solo HR was the difference maker for YSS. Solo shots from Bill Hall early, and Morneau late leave SEV a run shy. YSS wins 3-2

Game 5 - The Cliff Lee Experience. CGSO, 5H, 3BB, and 11K. Apparently Travis Hafner is a Stalker now. He "bumped" his RBI total to 3 so far in his injury plagued start to 07. Carlos Zambrano goes the distance for SEV and falls to 0-3. YSS wins 2-0

Game 6 - Matt Holidays 3R HR in the 8th put it away for the visitors. A-Rod had a couple solo shots as well. SEV wins 8-6.

The home team Stalkers managed just 2 HRs (both solo), IN THE SERIES. An impressive SEV offense featured 3 HR apiece from A-Rod and Billy Hall, but Morneau and Holiday tied for the weekly RBI lead with 6.

Next week, SEV returns home to host ELY, while YSS heads to FRE.

Garden City @ Kentucky -

Kentucky 4 6 0

W: Duke (2-1)
L: Ohka (0-1)
Sv: none

Game 3 R H E
Garden City 2 5 1
Kentucky 3 6 3

W: Heilman (3-1)
L: Saito (0-1)
Sv: none
HR: none

Garden City scored two runs on three Kentucky errors in the 5th inning. This was pretty much the ballgame until Woody Williams allowed a base runner in the 9th. GCG's first round pick and closer Saito comes in to close the door, but can't. Luis Castillo hits a two-run single to win the game.

Game 4 R H E
Garden City 2 8 2
Kentucky 3 5 0

W: Backe (1-0)
L: Speier (0-1)
Sv: Wheeler (2)

Kentucky 2 7 1

W: Snell (3-1)
L: R. Lopez (0-2)
Sv: none
HR: Gunderson (2), Utley (4), Rios (4)

The Garden City offense was the story -- routing the Head Hunters 10-2. Rios, Gunderson, and Chase Utley provided more than enough fire power for Ian Snell to record his third victory against one loss. Rodrigo Lopez was sacrficied in this one, dropping to 0-2 on the season.

Garden City 1 5 0
Kentucky 3 5 0

W: Contreras (3-1)
L: Verlander (1-3)
Sv: Cordero (3)
