- Detroit visits Yonge Street. Gm 1) Hafner (33) and Nick Johnson (23) homer, in support of Roy Halladay (18-3, 1.47 ERA). Soriano (36) went deep for the Crime...in support(?) of Rodrigo Lopez (1-11, 6.13) YSS 5 DET 2 Gm 2) The second of Nick Johnsons two 2 run HRs (24,25) came in the 8th and proved to be the difference. Greg Norton doubled (16) and homered (13) in the losing effort. Kazmir K'd 11, but didn't factor in the decision. YSS 5 DET 4 Gm 3) After 6, it was YSS 6, DET 0. The Crime put a 5 spot on the board in the top half of the 7th, but fell short. YSS scored 1 in the bottom half, and held on. David Wright doubled and drove in 3 (128) for YSS, while Soriano homered (37) and drove in 3 for the Crime. YSS 7 DET 5 Gm 4) Cliff Lee did his best Johan Santana impression. 8 IP, 4 H, 4 BB, 8K, 0 ER) The Stalkers touched Santana for 4 runs in the 3rd. David Wright drove in 4 more runs. (132) YSS 5 DET 1 Gm 5) Jeremy Bonderman was the stopper. Detroit avoids the sweep with a combined 2 hit shutout. Bonderman went the first 7 innings and allowed both hits (one of which was D. Wrights 34th double). Ledezma and Betancourt followed with scoreless innings of their own. Greg Norton hit a solo HR for DET. DET 3 YSS 0 DET returns home to host BUF next week, while the red-hot Stalkers host FRE. |

Virginia 42-12 in the series. Game#1 - CCC 1-0 Sluggers' Garcia throws a CG, 3 hitter and strikes out 14...but loses when ph'er Either singles and scores the only run of the game in the 8th. Game#2 - CCC 14-6 CCC pounds out 20 hits. Dan Uggla on fire...6-6, 4 runs and 6 RBI. Falling a triple shy of the cycle he has 3 singles, a double and 2 homers. Game#3 - CCC 11-0 R. Hill allows 2 hits in 6 inns. and K's 10 batters. Sanchez is 4-5 and scores 3 runs. Atkins hits a grand slam. Game#4 - CCC 9-0 Back-to-back shutouts. A. Sanchez goes 6 giving up 4 hits. Atkins 3-5 with 3 RBI. R.Howard 2 hits and 2 RBI. Game#25 - CCC 7-6 Sluggers can't hold a 6-2 lead after 3 innings. Crushers come back on paulino's 3-run shot in the 6th. |

Iron City @ Midland -
Midland takes 4 of 5 from Iron City. Game 1: IC scores 2 in the top of the 9th to tie the game only to see Midland scratch out a run in the bottom of the inning to win 4-3. Crain picks up the win. Game 2: Tim Stauffer called up from the minors to pitch in the DH goes a strong 8 innings to lead Midland to a 5-3 win. Kendall goes deep for the Hens. Game 3: Midland pounds out 16 hits including 3 by Tex with a HR and Clay Hensley wins his 18th. Midland 8 IC 1. Game 4: Midland scores 2 in the bottom of the 9th take the win 7-6. Belliard gets 2 HRs and 4 RBIs for IC while Roberts, Drew and Texeira go deep for the Hens. Game 5: Marshall throws a 2 hit complete game and IC wins the finale 2-1. Only run for Midland was a 9th inning HR by Beltran. |
