| Yonge Street @ Coconut Creek - 60-18. Coconut Creek shut out 3 times. Ethier hits their only homer in the only game the Crushers won, and it took extra innings to do that. Worst series of the year for the Crushers and to the team we are fighting for the wild-card - Yonge Street. Not a good sign. |

Midland
- Midland takes 5 of 6 from Northridge. Game 1: Sowers holds the Quakes in check. Midland gets HRs from Beltran and Hunter to take the opener 6-2. Game 2: Midland gets 9 runs on 6 hits including dingers for Teixeira and Crede to win 9-4. Nady goes deep for the Quakes. Bedard gets the win. Game 3: Jeff Francis goes 8 2/3 and holds on for the win 6-4. Dunn goes deep for Northridge and Beltran and Perez for Midland. Game 4: Tori Hunter cracks 3 HRs including a grand slam and a total of 7 RBIs as Midland wins 11-5. Dunn, Easley and Roberts also go deep. Cain gets the win. Game 5: Midland scores 3 in the bottom of the 13th after the Quakes had put 2 on the board in the top of the inning. Teixeira gets a HR and 4 RBIS to lead Midland. Easley gets 2 more HRs for the Quakes. Villanueva gets the win in relief. Game 6: Midland scores 3 unearned runs in the bottom of the 8th to steal the win 3-2. Crain gets his 9th win in relief and Street picks up his 28th save. |

5 of 6 from Ann Arbor. Highlights: Aug. 7 - Camarillo's David Wells wins his first game of the year (1-0). Aug. 8 - Whenever the Bluebirds win its a highlight...Borchard and Reyes homer and Oliver (wait til next year) Perez earns his first win of the year (1-11). Aug. 10 - Jason Jennings (8 IP) and Wickman combine to shut out the Bluebirds 1-0. Marquis falls to 5-15. Aug. 11 - Quests Juan Uribe has 1 triple, 2 doubles, and a single. Aug. 12 - Boomer gets the hook after 6 batters when he gives up 3 in the first. However, Uribe still on fire as he gets 3 more hits and 4 rbi's to lead the Quest to a 12-3 win. |

Tempe @ Los Angeles - The Tempers came
to LA and did what they do best. They took the first 3 games in
convincing fashion, and shut down Pujols. Apparently, the Tempers
were not amused by Pujols' comments in a recent article. The Tempers
held Pujols to 1 hit and 2 runs in 19 AB through the first 5 games.
But, the Riots were not that scared. After LA managed a win in Game 4 against Bret Myers, the Tempers showed no mercy and brought Clemens back from the DL. But, Clemens, with his Itchy-boosted 23 grade and his smug smile, was no match for the Riots, who scored 5 in the 6th to shut the Rocket down. After that, the rest was cake. The Riots won a rained-shortend Game 6 8-1, and walked away with a 3-3 split. These Tempers are gonna be hard to beat come playoff time ... |
