- Opening weekend South of the border as Tijuana host division rival Detroit. Game1 M. Mussina gets knocked out early. A. Beltre drives in 4 with a HR and double. J. Peavy picks up his 1st win of the season and M. Gonzalez picks up save #3 as Tijuana takes it 5-3. Game2 J. Santana takes the mound and pitches well striking out 11 but he gives up 3 long balls(Berkman, Fielder 2) and the defense commits a costly error letting Tijuana eek out the the 5-4 victory. Game3 R. Johnson pitches his 2nd CG of the season limiting Detroit to a solo homer by Kielty in the 9th as he cruises to a 3-1 victory. Game4 Despite 7 base on balls D. Cabrera was able to throw 7.1 innings of shutout ball. The bullpen held the rest of the way including M. Gonzalez's 4th save and Tijuana wins another close one 2-0. Game5 Detroit jumps out to the early 5-0 lead but homers by Berkman, Hatteberg and Drew power Tijuana to another 1 run victory 6-5. Game6 Looking for the sweep Tijuana trots out J. Pineiro. He pitches surprisingly well : ) but the bullpen couldn't hold this time as homers by J. Damon and L. Scott off S. Feldman and J. Julio allow Detroit to finally win a close one and avoid the sweep taking this game 5-4. Tijuana takes the series 5-1 Next week TIJ@ELY HOL@DET |

- Crazy Series that ends with Chicago taking 4 of 6 from the
Stalkers Game #1 - Chris Carpenter spins a gem, Rafael Furcal has 3 RBI's, and the Stalkers win 9-2 Game #2 - Tied at the end of nine, the Stalkers take the lead in the top of the 10th. Chicago's David Ortiz singles home Derek Jeter in the 10th off Stalkers closer John Papelbon. Next batter Andruw Jones then smashes a two-run homer off to win it. Dramatic win for the Mobsters. Game #3 - Tied at the end of nine, the Mobsters win this one in the 11th with a single run. Game #4 - Stalkers up 5-2 heading into the bottom of the ninth, the Mobsters score 5 to win it 6-5. C.C. Sabathia went the distance and picked up the win. Game #5 - Chicago's Barry Zito throws a No-Hitter and the Mobsters win 5-0. Click here for news on the No-Hitter. - Midland takes 4 of 6 from Kentucky. Game 1: Harang throws 2 hit shut out for 7 2/3 before the rains come and end the game. Midland wins 3-0. Texeira goes deep for the Hens. Game 2: Bedard holds the Headhunters in check until a 3run blast by Posada in the 8th. Blake paces Midland with 3 hits including a HR as the Hens hang on to win 6-4. Game 3: Ichiro rips a bases loaded triple to grab the lead as Kentucky gets the win 6-4. Game 4: Hensley and Backe lock up in a scoreless pitcher's duel until Joe Crede hits a HR in the bottom of the ninth to win for Midland 1-0. Game 5: Midland jumps out to early lead and hangs on to win 5-2. Teixeira and Hunter pace the Mud Hens attack. Castillo has 3 hits for Kentucky. Midland 5 Kentucky 2. Game 6: Bobby Crosby steals home in the top of the ninth with the go ahead win as Kentucky takes it 6-5. |

Ann Arbor @ Iron City
- Ann Arbor at Iron City Game 1 The Yinzers pounded out 19 hits enroute to a 13-4 thrashing of the Bluebirds. Game 2 The Yinzers appeared to have this one tucked away with a one run lead in the 9th and light hitting Jeremy Reed at the plate. But, the young centerfielder surprised everyone when he unloaded with a 2 out 2 run homer that put the Bluebirds up 5-4. In the bottom half of the inning Eric Byrnes was erased at home plate when he tried to score on a 2 out single. Final score is 5-4 Bluebirds. Game 3 Byrnes bounces back as he triples and homers as the Yinzers double up the Bluebirds 6-3. Sele gets the complete game win (1-1). Game 4 Garko (2) homered and battied in 5 as the Bluebirds cruise to an 11-0 win. Game 5 In the opening game of the doubleheader the Yinzers score 4 unanswered runs as they win it 4-1. Martin homers for Iron City. Game 6 Four Edgar Renteria singles including the game winner in the 10th give the Yinzers the game 6 win and the series as they prevail by a score of 5-4. |

Toad Hollow
- Camarillo and Toad Hollow exchanged leads all weekend, and
ultimately ended up splitting their six game series. Game 1: CAM 3, THP 4 Jason Kubel hit a 2-RBI single off Bob Wickman with one out in the bottom of the ninth to give Toad Hollow a 4-3 victory and its first win of the season. Kevin Youkilis went yard for the Quest. Luis Gonzalez went Gonzo for the Predators. Game 2: Cam 3, THP 1 Juan Uribe hit a 2-run bomb in 6th, and that was all the scoring the Quest would need, as Jeff Suppan had a solid start and Bob Wickman recovered from his blown save on Sunday to nail this one down in the 9th. Game 3: Cam 4, THP 5 Juan Uribe hit his second home run of the series, a solo shot off Esteban Loaiza in the second inning, to give the Quest a 3-0 lead. But the Predators got right back into things when Jason Kubel hit a grand slam in the 7th to knot the game at 4-4. Justin Duchscherer came on to try to keep Camarillo in the game in the bottom of the 9th, but the Quest's bullpen let another one go as Mark Sweeney led off the inning and hit a walk-off jack. Game 4: Cam 8, THP 5 Getting to the Quest's bullpen again, Mike Napoli came off the Predators' bench to tie the game 3-3 with an RBI single against Bob Howry in the bottom of the 8th. Neither team scored in the 9th, forcing the game into extra frames. Mark Grudzielanek came off the bench and picked up Howry with a 2-RBI single in the 10th that gave Camarillo a 5-3 lead. Bob Wickman came on to try to close the game and blew another save, allowing a double to Lastings Milledge and then a RBI triple to Mark Sweeney. Mike Napoli followed by hitting into a fielders choice to drive Sweeney in and tie the game 5-5. With men on first and second in the 11th, Gary Matthews Jr. singled off David Aardsma to drive in Chris Shelton and put the Quest back on top 6-5. Carl Crawford cemented the victory with a 2-RBI single that drove in Juan Uribe and Matthews Jr, evening the series at two games a piece. Game 5: Cam 8, THP 10 Carl Crawford extended his hitting streak to 10 with a 2-RBI single off of Mark Mulder in the 1st, as the Quest continued to score early. But doubles by Luis Gonzalez, Pedro Feliz, and Doug Mirabelli led to a 4-run first for the Predators, giving Toad Hollow a 4-3 lead. Crawford struck again in the second. The hottest hitter in The Hollow singled in two in the 2nd inning to put the Quest back on top, 5-4. The Predators battled back again with a Luis Gonzalez RBI double in the 6th that gave them an 8-7 lead. With a 3-run cushion, Jeremy Accardo allowed a solo jack to Shea Hillenbrand before settling down to close out the victory, 10-8. Game 6: Cam 5, THP 1 After two days of offense, the aces dueled on Thursday. Dioner Navarro opened with scoring with a 2-RBI double in the 4th. The Predators responded when Julio Lugo doubled in Aaron Hill in the 6th, 2-1 Quest. Mark Grudzielanek took Haren deep in the 7th, 3-1, and the Quest had all the runs they would need. Jennings (1-0) wound up going the distancing and limiting Toad Hollow to one run on five hits while striking out six and walking one. Haren (0-2) allowed three earned runs on 11 hits while striking out 10 in 8.0 innings. |
