Buffalo @ Coconut Creek - CCC's bullpen prevents a possible sweep by continually blowing leads. Fortunately Ryan Howard seems to be waking up. He hits 4 homers in the series. Two of those came in game-6 driving in 6 runs along the way. CCC takes the series 4-2.

Hollywood @ Chicago -
Game #1 Hollywood takes in 10 innings 3-2.
Game #2 Barry Zito (7-2 4.18) picks up the shutout win 4-0
Game #3 Derek Jeter hit for the 2nd time in 3 days, Josh Beckett retaliates, and gets tossed, but the Mobsters win 6-3. Armando Benitez gets credit for the victory and Billy Wagner picks up his 9th save of the year.
Game #4 Chipper Jones goes 3 for 4 with a HR, and 4 RBI's.  Felix Hernandez improves to 5-1 (4.26) and Billy Wagner picks up his 10th save of the year.  Derek Jeter hit once again as Hollywood is sending a message.  Chicago Manager Antonio Corrado patiently waits for his chance to retaliate.
Game #5 Chicago gets 3 RBI's each from Andrus Jones, Chipper Jones, David Ortiz, and Vernon Wells in a 18-1 POUNDING of the Werewolves.
Game #6 Hollywood pulls out the win 8-4 behind Jared Weaver (3-4 1.85).  Barry Bonds feels something pop in his left hamstring, and it looks like he will miss about 5 days.

Virginia @ Fremont -  No News out of Fremont.

Elyria @ Yonge Street - Elyria makes the trip to Yonge Street and can't leave quick enough.

Gm 1) Chris Carpenter goes 8 innings, allows 3H, no walks or runs and K's 9. The Stalkers were led by Kearns' 2 HR and 5 RBI. Newly acquired Ramon "the pool boy" Ortiz receives the Cito Gaston treatment, as he goes the distance while giving up all 8 runs.
YSS 8
ELY 0

Gm 2) Elyria led 6-2 heading to the bottom of the ninth. The hometown Stalkers strike for 7 runs, ending with a Game Winning Javier Valentin Grand Slam.
YSS 9
ELY 6

Gm 3) Halladay goes 8+ strong innings, and the Stalkers get a homer and 2RBI from both Edmonds and Hafner.
YSS 5
ELY 1

Gm 4) YSS loses a starter for the second series in a row. This time it's Jamie Shields (23 days). However, the bullpen comes up large and the Stalkers hold on for the win. Elyria fights the injury bug too (Ensberg 11 days), and O. Cabrera (3 days)
YSS 5
ELY 4

Gm 5) Cliff Lee gave up 5 earned in his 8 innings, but it was enough for the win. Hafner launched 2 HR's and drove in 4 to lead the home team.
YSS 8
ELY 5

Gm 6) Bookend dominant starts from Carpenter. CGSO, this time.
YSS 5
ELY 0

Carpenter throws his name in for Pitcher of the week, as well
17 IP, 5 H, ZERO walks or runs, and 21 K's in his 2 starts (both of them wins).

An interesting little tidbit. Joe Nathan came into game 2 "itchy" and had a grade of 29. I'd never seen anything like it....until...Papelbon came in itchy in game 4 with a grade of 30. THIRTY!!! Just thought I'd share that.

YSS stays home to host Detroit next week, while ELY returns home to host Canton

Tijuana @ Severn - Brandon Webb doing his best for pitcher of the week honors: 2 wins, 17IP, 6 HA, 1R, 0ER

Detroit @ Canton - Detroit takes last two games in the series to win it 4-2. The dynamic trio of Graffanino, Kielty, and Soriano make it totally miserable for the Tribe. Chief may have ordered the plunk that fractured Kielty's wrist. He's lost for eleven, and Wahoo's not sad.

Kentucky @ Tempe - It was a tough series with four of the games decided by one run.

Tempe avoided splitting the series with a run in the bottom of the 16th inning in the final game. The run came off Heilman who had been a 2 grade since the 14th inning. Kentucky ran out of relief so Heilman went 6.2 innings (33 batters) before completely running out of gas. The game could have been over sooner but Kentucky gunned Tempe at the plate twice during the extra innings.

G1 TEM 5 – KEN 4
G2 KEN 5 – TEM 1
G3 TEM 9 – KEN 3
G4 KEN 2 – TEM 1
G5 TEM 6 – KEN 5
G6 TEM 7 – KEN 6

MVP of the series was Tadahito Iguchi 3 HR

Camarillo @ Iron City - Camarillo takes four of six from the Yinzers in Iron City…

Garden City @ Northridge - The Quakes stay true to their recent home pattern, winning the first three, followed by losing the last three.

New River @ Ann Arbor - Road Runners at Bluebirds

Game 1
Two in the 8th give the Roadrunners the 7-6 win. Jack Wilson homered (5) for New River.

Game 2
Wilson goes deep, again, and Trot Nixon and Garret Anderson add their own homers to the big 18 New River hit attack as they win 15-5. Millwood (4-5) gets the win.

Game 3
Padilla (2-4) gives the Road Runners 7 strong innings as they win 5-1. Mike Lowell homered for New River.

Game 4
New River was leading 4-1 when the game was called because of rain.

Game 5
New River wins 11-4 as Wilson crushes yet another homer and bats in 3.

Game 6
No Jack Wilson dingers but they still won 3-2. Tomko gets the win.

Midland @ Los Angeles  - LA beats Midland 4-2 in the 6-game set. Pujols hits a homer in all 5 games he played, and Midland pulls out an amazing come from behind win in game 6 to beat a tired Riots pen in 14 innings.

Toad Hollow @ Topeka - Topeka and Toad Hollow split the six game series.
