1989 PROPOSALS

PROPOSAL #1 – CHANGES TO LOTTERY DRAFT –

The current draft lottery is too random to help the weakest teams. The current lottery gives the worst team in the a league only a 15% chance of have first pick and less than a 45% chance to be in the top three picks. This is simply not fair to the weakest teams in the league who obviously need the boost the most.
This would bring the MWWL closer to MLB who does not even use a lottery system in selecting order for the June draft.

VII) DRAFTS

B) Pre-Season Draft

5) The draft will be under a Lottery based System.

(a) The team with the worst record will receive 4″balls”
(b) The second worst team would receive 3 “balls”
(c) The Third worst team would receive 2 “balls”
(d) The Four worst team would receive 1 “ball”
(e) The lottery would commence by pulling for the first 3 draft positions only.
(i) So the team with the worst record could not receive a place in the draft lower than 4th – if that team’s “ball” was not selected in the first three picks.

PROPOSAL #2 – NO TRADE DRAFT PICK ROUNDS 13-END –

One of the hardest things to do about the MWWL Draft for the Commissioner Office is to handle & deal with all of the late round Draft Picks and figuring out how many Draft Picks each team has left, reading from lists for some teams, auto drafting for other  and etc. I propose that we do not allow for trading of Draft Picks from Rounds 13- to the end of the Draft. It will help increase the values of picks 1-12 and will help out the Commissioner Office during Rounds 13 to end of Draft.

Proposed by – John “Stray’ Corrado – Chicago Demolition & the MWWL Commissioner Office
