JOSE CANSECO GOES #1 OVERALL IN 1985

The Stockton Wings had the first selection in the 1985 Mid-West Winter League Draft, and choose outfielder Jose Cansecon with the pick.  Canseco will play some in 1985, but look for him to break out in 1986.   Stockton Manager Jim Craddock  was quoted as saying “We’re excited to have Jose Canseco on board and look forward to a great career with the Wings.  We really don’t care about all the speculation about this player, we are happy with our selection”.
