THE “CLOWNS” TRADE #1 PICK TO HOLLYWOOD

HOLLYWOOD, CA  By (Hollywood Beat Writer) Spencer Moss

The call woke Carlton Fisk at 12:01am the morning of the draft.  His agent notified him that the contract talks with Sandusky broke down forcing the Fairgoers to trade the #1 overall pick.  Hollywood, with their increased revenue due to the new stadium, was waiting with open-arms.  The Vampires did pay a price sending talent players such as Tony Perez, Luis Tiant and Gene Tenace.  When asked about the trade, his agent responded, “Fisk really didn’t want to play for a team that has a Clown for a logo.  He didn’t feel that he would be taken seriously.”
We caught up with Fisk shortly after Hollywood made their pick and he had this to say, “Listen, who are you going to take more serious, a Clown or a Vampire?  Seriously, I am excited to be in Hollywood.  I get to play with Pete Rose, Bill Russell, Burt Hooton amongst others.  I think we have a good future head of us.  I plan on being here for the next 20 years.  I know that they gave up a lot to get me and I will not let them down.”
Fisk was the top player in the Rookie Draft this year.  He will be a double threat player for the Vampires giving them solid offense and defense.  There aren’t too many of those catchers out there.  In addition to that he calls an excellent game.  Look for him to help with the maturity of Charlie Hough, Burt Hooton, Al Hrabosky and Joe Niekro.
