Game #2: The Gas Hornets get on the board on a force out in the 1st inning. In the bottom of the 1st, Castilla connects on a 3 run homer. Tino Martinez hits a 2 run homer, which is his 2nd of the series to tie the game. In the bottom of the 3rd, Castilla hits a single to put the Marauders in the lead. Michigan’s bullpen negotiates a few problems, but Borland earns the save. Bernie Williams goes 4 for 4.

Game #3: Game is scoreless until the 6th inning when Fred Kendall hits a sac fly. Tino Martinez singled in a run in the 8th and Manhattan is up 2-0. The Gas Hornets add a run in the 8th. In the 9th, Jim Edmonds breaks up the shutout with a single.

Game #4: Palmeiro and Ripken knock in runs for Michigan in the 1st inning. Tino ties the game in the 6th on a fielder’s choice. Charles Nagy hangs on for his 11th win.

Michigan 2 Manhattan 1

Game #5: In the 5th, Manhattan takes the lead on a wild pitch to Derek Jeter. In the bottom of the 5th, Ripken hits a homer to tie the game. In the 6th, Brady Anderson hits his 31st homer and Michigan takes the lead. Michigan’s bullpen hangs on and the Marauders earn the win.

Game #6: In the bottom of the 3rd, Michigan gets 3 runs across on a double by Hoiles and a single by Anderson. In the 4th, Brady Anderson hits his 32nd homer. In the bottom of the 5th, Hoiles hits a 2 run homer. In the 8th, Avery loses his shutout bid as Manhattan scores 2. Michigan ends up with 15 hits.

Series Summary: Manhattan uses 5 lefty’s during the series against Anderson and Palmeiro. Michigan struggles to hit, but they manage to win 4 of 6.
