Series Preview: In a battle of cellar dwellers, the Hounds had to play these games quickly, so the write-ups will be brief.
Game #1: The Tigers pounce all over the Hounds in Game 1 and take it by a 7-2 tally. Castle Rock does itself no favors, with 2 costly errors. Matt Williams hits a dinger for Dewitt.

Game #2: The Hounds pull out a close in the second game, 3-2. Both Rogers and O. Fernandez pitch quality starts, but a Bonds homer is the difference for Castle Rock.

Game #3: This one is a laugher, as the Hounds lay into the Dewitt pitchers, putting up 9 runs, including a 3-run home run for Luis Gonzalez. The final is 9-1.

Game #4: The Hounds keep up their slugging ways in Game 4, plating 10 runs. The Tigers do pretty well too, putting across 6 runs, but it’s not enough.

Game #5: The Hounds can clinch the series win in Game 5, but they don’t get it done. It is Dewitt’s turn to turn up the offense, as they win 10-5, with Galarraga leading the way with 2 homers and 6 RBI. The final is 10-5.

Game #6: After getting shellacked in the first game, Wojo takes the mound again for Castle Rock, hoping to get the series clincher. And, he pitches an absolute gem, complete game shutout. The Hounds bats go off too, putting up a 12-spot with 4 home runs (including 2 by Bonds). The final is 12-0.

Game #2: Edgar Martinez gives Ft. Worth an early 2 run lead in the first with an RBI double and Pudge Rodriguez gives the boys from cow town insurance run with his 9th homer of the year in the 8th as the Panthers take game two. Kevin Brown improves to 19-3.

Game #3: Old man Willie – Willie McGee – goes 4 for 5 with 3 RBI on 3 doubles and Kevin Elster hits a 2 run homer to lead the way for an 8-3 Panther win extending the winning streak to 9 games.
Game #4: Corktown is finally able to claim the king of the mountain when Alex Rodriguez hits a solo homer in the top of the 9th off Panther reliever Mike Jackson.

Game #5: Bob Tewksbury allows 10 hits in 7 innings for Ft. Worth, but only allows two earned runs and Willie McGee breaks a tie in the 7th with a 2-run homer.

Series Preview: Two of the best teams in the NL (record-wise at least) lock horns as the Goldeyes visit the Bombers in Valdosta in a likely playoff preview.
Series Summary: The Goldeyes flex their muscles a bit as they hit 7 HR’s and they all seemed like they were 3-run shots. Valdosta didn’t hit much, didn’t pitch too great and looked rather flat as Winnipeg takes the series 4-2.
