Game #6: It was a two-man wrecking crew for the Panthers as both Gary Sheffield and Kevin Elster homered twice to offset a shaky starter by Ft. Worth starter Drabek. Sheffield got his 22 and 23 homers in the first and third – the second one putting the Panthers back in front 4 to 3. Elster hit a solo home run in the 4th, but his big blast came with two on and two outs in the 7th, “SHEFFIELD takes his lead at third … the pitch … swung on … hit deep to left field could be trouble … BERROA’s racing back … it’s gone! … he got all of that one Kevin trots around the bases … he loves a trip downtown … he claps his hands he’s greeted at home plate … congratulations all around PANTHERS 8, FLYING SQUIRRELS 7” Both hitters drove in 4 runs each as the Panthers come from behind to take the final 9 to 7.
