Game #1: Vanderwaal does his best with a 3 rbi homer game for the Beach bums. But Buhner homered for Winnipeg and the pen gets the 5-4 win
Game #2: this time the bums hit two homers Big Hurt and Macfarlane but it was Buhners homer and the pen that wins 5-4 for Winnipeg
Game #3: McGuire hits two homers but Winnipeg loses 9-7 as Caminiti hits a homer and drives in 5! in the Santa Rosa 9-7 win
Game #4: Glavine out pitches Smoltz and then Smoltz gets hurt as Winnipeg wins 7-6 in 10 innings as Roberts gets the walk-off. Big Mac homered as did the Bums Macfarlane
Game #5: Finley was on as he wins 10-2 allowing just a Ventura homer. Gagne homered for the Bums in the 10-2 win
Game #6: With series 3-2 Winnipeg Santa Rosa was looking for the split.  Appier was great 2 runs allowed thanks to a Buhner homer but Torres throws a 3 hitter for Winnipeg winning 2-0

Game #1: Wasdin vs. Estes. Michigan gets off to a 3-0 start. Stockton scores 4 unanswered runs to win the game. John Jaha knocks in 2 runs.

Wasdin wins his second and Estes loses his first.

Game #2: Wilson vs. Morgan. Michigan with another early 3 runs and Stockton comes back to take the lead. Michigan has a great comeback to tie the game. But, Jaha and the Wings are too strong. Jaha has two homers and Wilkins adds a tater. Hamilton has 4 hits for the Wings.

Florie gives up 4 runs in 1 inning but gets the win. Borland takes the loss.

Game #3: Mendoza vs. Avery. Avery with a gutsy 8 hit shutout. Brady Anderson and Robby Thompson hit homers.

Avery gets his 3rd win and Mendoza takes his 1st loss.

Game #4: Schmidt vs. Nagy. Michigan gets its 2nd straight shutout. Nagy throws a 4 hitter. Jim Edmonds hits his 4th homer.

Nagy with his 2nd win and Schmidt takes his 5th loss.

Game #5: D’Amico vs. Gardner. In the 10th inning, Chris Hoiles hits a 3 run homer to win the game. Brady Anderson had a 3 run homer in the 9th to tie the game. Jaha hits his 10th homer for Stockton.

Borland with his 2nd win. Garces takes his 1st loss.

Michigan 9 Stockton 6 (10)

Game #6: Wilson vs. Radke. Anderson, Palmeiro, and Casanova hit homers. Brady Anderson goes 5 for 5! Casanova has 4 RBIs.

Radke gets his 4th win and Wilson gets his 2nd loss.

Series Summary: Michigan overcomes two early losses and wins four straight. Michigan 4 Stockton 2. Jaha has 3 homers in the series. Brady Anderson goes 5 for 5 in game 6. Michigan is happy to be home.

DeWitt Tigers @ Fort Worth Panthers
Series Preview: Ft. Worth enters the series with 4 straight wins. In the AL they are 6th in batting at .266, 4th in slugging, 4th in steals, and first in ERA at 3.04. For the Tigers, they come to Ft. Worth with 3 straight wins. On the league leader boards, Dewitt is 7th in batting at .261, 3rd in home runs with 35, and tied for 4th in stolen bases with the Panthers.
Game #1: Wasn’t much of a cat-fight in this one as the Panthers mauled the Tigers for 17 runs on 19 hits while shutting them out on 5 hits. Five Ft. Worth hitters had 3 hits.

Game #2: Doug Drabek crashed back to earth after pitching a CG shutout in his previous start as even a five-run first was not enough for him. He hung around for 5 innings plus, but gave up 9 runs on 11 hits as the Tigers evened the series at a game apiece.

Game #3: Dewitt went ahead 6 to 5 in the 8th, but it was an exciting bottom of the 9th for the home town crowd. Fred McGriff led and Gary Sheffield followed with a walk. Then Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez stepped up, “The pitch is on the way … there’s a little blooper … down the right-field line it might drop in … it does! … MCGRIFF scores … tie game! … SHEFFIELD’s rounding third … they’re waving SHEFFIELD in … ORDONEZ will relay … here’s the play at the plate … and he’s … out!…just missed getting in … oh, those TIGERS they have cut off the winning run!” Two batters later Kevin Elster walked it off by singling home Pudge.Panthers 7, Tigers 6
Game #4: Kevin Brown continued pitching strong with the only damage being a two-run home run by Dante Bichette. Meanwhile, Brown’s teammates had 3 home runs themselves. McGriff and Edgar Martinez each had two-run homers and Kevin Elster blasted a three-run shot in the 8th.

Panthers 9, Tigers 2

Game #5: After the Tigers went ahead 2-1 with Sammy Sosa’s 13th homer of the year Ft. Worth roared back with 5 runs in the bottom of the third on a two-out two-RBI single by Ivan Rodriguez and then a three-run homer by Howard.

Panthers 6, Tigers 3

Game #6: The Panthers closed out the series the way they started it by shutting out Dewitt. Four Ft. Worth pitchers combined on the 5 hit shutout. Five different Panthers drove in a run.
