1996 OPENING DAY
Opening Day, (The 27th, in Mid-West Winter League History) there was new blood in the League as New Hampshire joins the league. The season is scheduled for 162 for the first time in 2 Yeas. Everyone is looking ahead to the 1997 Draft where a new young group of players will be added to the League. Flossmoor is the favorite in the ALE, but Corktown will be on their heels all year, if not ahead of them. Chicago could edge out Detroit looking to take the ALC. Fort Worth & California are the predicted two to battle in the ALW. A showdown between Floosmor, Detroit, Chicago, California & Fort Worth will battle for the American League Championship. Santa Rosa should take the NLE. Valdosta has all but assured the flag in the NLC, but we could be in for a dog fight. Winnipeg should take the NLW with easy. Long Beach, Valdosta & Santa Rosa will battle for the National League Championship. It’s going to be a great season in the Mid-West Winter League & it all starts NOW!
