GAME #1 – Chad Ogea 11-3 (2.23) vs. Hideo Nomo 19-5 (2.04)

Detroit comes to Dallas for first two games of the ALDSD –  Detroit led the AL in team ERA during the 95 season at 3.17 – Dallas led the AL in team AVG during the 95 season at .311

The game was hitless until the bottom of the third when Geronimo Pena led off with a double. Joe Orsulak followed with another double to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead.
The Stars get their first hit in the top of the 4th with two outs when Raul Mondesi hit a blooper single to center.
Two more doubles by Edgar Martinez and Wally Joyner in the 6th give Ft. Worth another run, but Chad Ogea was able to work out of a 1st and 2nd no out jam to keep Detroit in the game down 2-0.
Pena, who was the top hitter of the game going two for 3 with 2 runs scored led off the 7th with a single and would score on a single by Luis Sojo.
The 3 runs were more than enough as Hideo Nomo as he only allowed two hits while striking out 8 for a complete game victory

GAME #2 – Pete Schourek 17-6 (1.58) vs. Kevin Brown 19-4 (2.82)

Jeff Reboulet singled home Willie McGee in the third to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead.
Wally Joyner extends 4th inning with a two out infield single and then Robby Thompson singles home Fred McGriff. Ft Worth now leads 2-0
In the 6th Fred McGriff gets his first hit of the series a foul pole home run hugger to right. Panthers up 3-0
Kevin Brown was pitching good, but ran into trouble in the 7th. After a walk followed a leadoff double Brown left the game. The Panther pen allowed a run in the inning but otherwise shut the door the rest of the way.
FWP 3, DET 1

Panthers up in the series 2 games to none as the series moves up to Detroit
GAME #3 – Patt Rapp 13-7 (3.76) vs. Ismael Valdes 12-8 (2.61)

Valdes pitches a 4 hit shutout and gets the win 3-0 over the Panthers.

GAME #4 – Donovan Osborne 13-4 (2.81) vs. Luis Andujar 4-1 (2.25)

Detroit gets 3 in the 7th & 8 in the 8th to get the win 6-4 over Fort Worth and even up the series.

GAME #5 – Hideo Nomo 19-5 (2.04) vs. Pete Schourek 17-6 (1.58)

This one is all Fort Worth as they route Detroit 12-1.

Series in now 3-2 in favor of Fort Worth.
GAME #6 – Chad Ogea 11-3 (2.23) vs. Kevin Brown 19-4 (2.82)

Mo Vaughn has 3 RBI’s, Raul Mondesi has 2 Triples & Tom Henke goes 2.2 Innings & picks up the win for Detroit.

GAME #7 – Pete Schourek 17-6 (1.58) vs. Patt Rapp 13-7 (3.76)

Mark McLemore has 3 Hits in 4 Trips with 2 RBI’s & Terry Pendelton kicks in with 2 RBI’s himself.  Pete Schourek goes the distance as Detroit wins 5 to 1.upsets Fort Worth.
