Valdosta Bombers @ Long Beach Titans
Series Preview:  The NL West comes down to the final 5 games. Long Beach & Winnipeg are tied for first with Tennessee 1 game back. Long Beach hosts Valdosta and Tennessee goes north of the border to visit Winnipeg.
Game #1:  Valdosta took a 1-0 lead in the 4th on a Sierra HR. Whitehurst pitched great until the 6th when Long Beach struck for 4 runs on RBI 2Bs by Samuel & Nilsson. That was all they needed as Martinez and the Titans bullpen withstood a couple late rallies by the Bombers in the 4-2 win.
Game #2:  Long Beach got the offense going in this game. After scoring 2 in the first on ground outs, they exploded for 5 in the 6th and went on to a 9-2 win. Baerga with 3 RBI & Nilsson with 2 led the offense. Perez gave up 1 hit over 6 innings and also drove in a run in getting the win.
Game #3:  Baerga homered leading off the game. 2 batters later, Justice hit another bomb and Long Beach was on its way to a 6-1 win. Lindeman added a 3 run HR in the 5th to seal the win. Palacios gave up 3 hits in 6 innings for his 8th win.
Game #4:  Long Beach jumped out to a 5-1 lead after 4 innings and seemed to be in good shape to pick up the win until Valdosta loaded the bases with no outs in the 5th. Before the Titans could get a reliever ready, Sierra hit a grand slam to tie the game. It was still 5-5 in the 7th when Karros came up with runners on 2nd & 3rd and hit a sacrifice fly to give Valdosta a 6-5 win. Sierra ended the game with 2 HR and 5 RBI.
Game #5:  Long Beach hit 3 HRs in their season ending 6-2 win. Smith hit 2 and had 3 RBI. Martinez gave up 4 hits in 8 innings for his 10th win of the season.
Series Summary:  Long Beach takes 4 of 5 and now waits for the results of the Tennessee – Winnipeg series to see if they get to continue playing.

Series Summary:  Sugar Land  takes the series over Blarney Drive 4 games to 1.
Harper Woods Expos @  Mexico City Chihuahuas
Series Preview:  The last series of the year will determine the AL Central. Harper Woods leads Chicago by 3 games with 5 left.
Game #1:  The Expos barrel out to a 6-0 lead. The Chiuahuas score the next 7 and hang on 11-7.

Tennessee Crackers @ Winnipeg Goldeyes
Series Preview:  This was a huge series for Winnipeg tied with Long Beach. Long Beach gets a weaker final series so Winnipeg need alot a luck as Tennessee Crackers are better than their 3rd place finish.
Game #1:  Jose Canseco breaks Winnipegs heart with a grand slam and drives in 6 runs. Winnipeg ace Benes just did not have it allow 7 runs in under 2 innings. TC 14 WGE 7
Game #2:  Javy Lopez comes up big as Winnipeg wins 3-2 in 10 innings.
Game #3:  Benes redeems imself as McGuire homers. Winnipeg 9 Tennessee 5
Game #4:  Lofton has a monster game a double and two homers with 5 rbis as he tries to be a mvp candidate. WGE 14 TC 7
Game #5:  Veres blows the 1 run save in the 8th allowing 3 runs and likely ending the Winnipeg playoff run. TC 4 WGE 2
Series Summary:  A 3 games to 2 series win by Winnipeg, but its likely too poor of a result as Long Beach should win 4 if not all 5 as they win the division and go to the playoffs. Lofton went a a crazy 15 for 26 with 8 rbis thats .577 average 3 doubles 2 homers and 3 steals.
California Quakes @ Detroit Stars
Series Summary:  Visiting California takes 4 of 5 from hometown Detroit.
Hampton Huskies @ Missouri Black Bears
Series Preview:  Missouri controls its playoff destiny as Hampton comes to town, trying to stay above .500 on the season.
Game #1:  The Black Bears storm out to an 8-0 lead. But, the Huskies stage an epic comeback, highlighted by back to back to back to back home runs. Yes, that was 4 in a row. They get to within one run on two occasions. But, Missouri holds on to win 9-8.

Game #2:  The opposite of Game 1, this is a pitcher’s duel. A 1-0 game, with Rogers and Bobby Jones fighting. Missouri gets the win, and moves its magic number to 1.

Game #3:  Another 1-0 affair, and again this one goes to the Black Bears. The only run is scored on Bichette solo shot. With the win, Missouri clinches its spot as the wildcard too!

Game #4:  Huskies lay into Mark Portugal, and hold on to win 10-9 to salvage a game in the series. Tettleton hits a tater. Piazza hits two for Missouri.

Game #5:  The final game of the regular season (and last for Hampton) is ended in spectacular fashion, as Bonds hits a 3-run walkoff HR to cap a 6-5 win.

Series Summary:  Missouri comes storming into the playoffs by winning 4 out of 5. Hampton preps for next year, and maybe improved its draft pick.
Janesville Juggernauts @ Corktown Bootleggers
Series Summary:  Corktown takes the series 3-2 to finish out the season for both squads.
Steel City Sluggers @ Michigan Mauraders
Series Preview:  In a battle of 3rd place teams, Steel City closes out the schedule against Michigan.
Game #1:  Jaime Navarro faces Charles Nagy in game 1. Cliff Floyd hits a triple in the 1st, and the Sluggers get on board early. The Sluggers go on to score 4 in the 1st. Michigan gets 1 back in the 1st. In the 2nd, the Marauders get another run back.

In the 3rd, Vinny Castilla hits a 3 run bomb to put Michigan in front. Cal Ripken proceeds with a 3 run homer as well. In the 5th, the Sluggers get 3 and trail, 8-7.

Michigan tacks on 2 runs in the 6th, and its 10-7. Michigan ends up winning 11-7.

Nagy goes to 13-4

Game #2:  
Michigan gets on board first on a ground out. Dave Clark and Vinny Castilla hit homers and the Marauders win easily. Kamieniecki gets a shutout and his 9th win.

Game #3:  Michigan gets 2 runs in the 6th (Brady Anderson 2 run homer), and Steel City ties the game in the 7th In a great battle, Michigan wins it in the bottom of the 14 as Chris Hoiles singles in the winning run.

Game #4:  Its’ Greg Swindell vs.Bill Wegman. Bret Boone homers in the bottom of the 4th to put Michigan up 1-0. Greg Vaughn hits a big 3 run homer and the Sluggers take the lead in the 6th inning. Raines hits a triple in the 7th and its 4-1. In the bottom of the 7th, Ripken gets a RBI to narrow the Sluggers lead. But, Habyan and the pen closes it down for Steel City.

Steel City 4 Michigan 2.

Game #5:  Pete Harnisch goes against Charles Nagy in the finale. Michigan gets on the board first as the Sluggers make an error. Bret Boone doubles in 2 runs in the 2nd run. Michigan goes on to win the game, 8-1.

Michigan 8 Steel City 1

Series Summary:  Michigan wins 4 of 5 from Steel City.
Chicago Demolition @ Portland Mavericks
Series Preview:  The 54-51 Chicago Demolition head to Portland to face the Mavericks (64-41) in a preview of the wildcard matchup.
Game #1:  Chicago gets the win in extra 3-2 after a great pitching performance by Todd Stottlemyre.
Game #2:  All Chicago in game two as the cruise to the 8-2 win.
Game #3:  Portland finally wakes up enough to get the 4-2 win.
Game #4:  Another close one, and another Portland win. Portland led 5-0 going into the 8th, when the Demolition explored for 4 runs, but couldn’t plate more. POR 5 CHI 4
Game #5:  Witt pitches a complete game shutout for Chicago. CHI 5 POR 0.
Series Summary:  Chicago gets the 3-2 series win, setting up high hopes for the wildcard game. With Clemens and Martinez on the mound Portland better hope they get to a third game.

Series Preview:  Germantown and Manhatten rapping up the season.
Series Summary:  Manhattan scored 1st in the 1st in four of five games – The silent contributer, the Big Hurt Thomas, continued just that in this series finishing a monster year: 7-17 5R 4RBI 3HR 7W. For the season: .362BA, .504OBP, .690SLG, and 1.195OPS. Bullinger finished the season at 12-0 with a 2.74ERA
