Missouri Black Bears @ Germantown
  The Missouri Black Bears meet the Germantown Grays in a best of seven league championship series. The Black Bears hold the upper hand in the season series winning 6 of 10.
Game #1: Bears send McDowell (18-5, 3.26) versus Grays Smoltz (15-12, 3.20). Goose eggs into the 6th with the Grays peppering hits, but no pay dirt. With 1-out in the 7th the Bears place runners on 2nd and 3rd. Grays go to Hernandez (7-7, 3.40) and Bichette (.305, 13) bangs a single through a drawn in infield scoring 2. Bears add an insurance run in the 9th when Clayton’s (.219, 2) bloop single scores Bichette. Grays start a rally in the bottom of the 9th. MacFarlane 9.265, 12) leads off going the yard and Sanders (.272, 23) follows with a single to score on a Hansen (.372, 5) Sac Fly. Bears 3-2 with 1-out, Wetteland (11-1, 1.30) in to relieve. Bears hold on. Bears 3-2
Game #2: Bears send Portugal (16-7, 3.15) to face Grays (Appier 21-2, 1.60). Goose eggs again until the 5th. Grays Gagne (.288, 17) bangs a single and with 1-out Appier lays down a bunt. Portugal fires it by Galarraga and Gagne scores. Curtis (.262, 5) reached sending Appier to third. Alomar (.306, 19) lays down a squeeze, but the Bears cut Appier down at the plate, only to have Thomas (.320, 40) bang a 3-run shot.
  Black Bears continue to be the Grays nemesis. Grays Appier avoids the sweep going 7.2IP 0R 3H 2W 4K and Thomas adding the offense with a 3-run homer.

Germantown visits Missouri for the middle 3 game set of the best of seven series. Series tied at 1 game apiece.

 Game #3:  The Grays send Finley (20-5, 2.97) to face the Bears Viola (11-11, 3.86). Bears waste no time. In the 2nd Gonzalez (.305, 35) drew a way and Bichette (.305, 13) brought him all the way around with a double. In the 4th Gonzalez and Bichette pair up again with back to back doubles. Wetteland (11-1, 1.30) closes out the last 2 innings. 1-2-3-4-5-6. bears 2-0.
 Game #4:  With the Bears up 2 games to 1 the Grays call on Smoltz (15-12, 3.20) to face Bears Burkett (17-5, 3.05). Bears Galarraga (.367, 11) loses is cool and is thrown out of the game in the 1st inning. Gonzalez keeps it going in at home with a solo shot in the 2nd. Grays Caminiti (.273, 6) ties it up with his own in the Grays next at bat. In the 3rd Bears Fletcher (.280, 4) bangs a leadoff walk and Bonds (.290, 40) follows with a single, first and second. Smoltz uncorks one. Second and third, no out. Valle (.234, 4) subbing for Galarraga ground to Gagne who goes home and throws it away, but Valle is thrown out going for two. Not matter wrecking ball Gonzalez rips a 2-run shot down the left field line. Bears 4-1, 2-out 3rd. The Grays follow that with Thomas, MacFarlane and Hansen single for a run. Alomar (.306, 19) makes it a 1-run game in the 8th with a solo shot, his first hit of the series. Bears 4-3.
 Game #5:  Grays with their back to the wall go to Appier (21-2, 1.60) to face Bears Rogers (15-6, 3.63). Grays Curtis (.262, 5) starts off game 5 with a triple and Alomar brings him home on a sac fly. MacFarlane (.265, 12) later singles followed by Sanders (.272, 23) going yard. In the 2nd (.288, 17) doubled and Curtis banged an RBI double followed by an Alomar single, Grays 5-0. Thomas singles and Rogers is gone. Appier strokes an RBI single in the 3rd to keep the gravy train flowing. Bears plate two in the 4th to keep it interesting. With a 6-2 score, the Grays PH for Appier in the 6th hoping to use him if a game 7 should happen. Grays stay alive, 9-2, out hitting the Bears 17-5
   Missouri heading back to Germantown with a 3-2 series lead.  Missouri comes to Germantown to complete the best of seven league championship series up 3 games to 2 narrowly missing eliminating Germantown at home.
 Game #6:   Bears elect McDowell (18-5, 3.26). As Finley and Smoltz have been ineffective against the Bears, they elect to try Bere (14-3, 2.81) against the formidable Bear offense. Goose eggs until the 4th when Bears Piazza (.370, 30) smacks a 1-out solo shot. In the bottom half Alomar (.306, 19) leads off with a double, advanced to third on a Thomas (.320,40) grounder and scored on a MacFarlane (.265, 12) sac fly, tie game. Bears Cedeno (.257, 3) leads off the 5th with a double and Thomas muffs a McDowell (.108, 0) bunt chasing Bere. With the infield deep Grays Miranda (11-4, 1.99) conduces Bears Fletcher (.280, 4) to ground into a double play scoring Cedeno from third. Wrecking ball Gonzalez (.305, 35) crushes a 2-run homer in the 6th to give the Bears a comfortable 4-1 lead. After the Grays and Bears trade runs, Grays Curtis (.262, 5) bangs a 1-out single in the 8th and Alomar follows with a triple. That summons Bears Wetteland (11-1, 1.30) to the mound. Thomas lifts a fly to center scoring Alomar, Bears 5-4. Wetteland mows the Grays down in the 9th, 1-2-3. Missouri moves on to the World Series.
Series Results Missouri takes the series 4-2. Germantown falls short in the League Championship Series for the second year in a row. Bears Gonzalez takes the series hitting honors: 6-18 6R 5RBI 2b 3HR 3W. Grays Curtis honorable mention: 9-20 6R 2-2b 3b 2W. Piazza held the fleet footed Grays to 0 Sb on 0 attempts, which may have made the difference. Pitching honors is a trifecta. Bears McDowell 2-0 14IP 2R 11H 3W 9K, Wetteland 0-0 5.2IP 4S 1R 1H 0W 7K and Grays Appier 2-0 12.2IP 2R 4H 4W 5K.

Series Results Mexico City beats Fort Worth 4 games to 0. A much tighter series than what it looks like. This actually could have gone either way. Good luck to The Panthers in ’94. Mexico City is on to the World Series.
