Game #2:  Jacob Brumfield has 3 RBI & John Jaha 3 Hits & 2 RBI’s for Chicago. But the offense on the Detroit side was ridiculous. 3 Hits each for Brett Butler, Raul Mondesi & Gary Disarcina. 5 Hits for Jeff Kent. Derek Bell led the squad with 5 RBI’s. Chicago is blown out. Injury to Craig Paquette for Detroit puts him on the shelf for 18 days.

Series Summary:  Chicago takes the series 3 games to 2, but you wouldn’t know thing that was the case as they were blown out in 2 of the 5 games.
Blarney Drive Bandits @ Winnipeg Goldeyes
Series Preview:  Winnipeg hosts Blarney Drive. The Bandits are off to a better start but on paper the teams are very close. Winnipeg is in 3rd place and Blarney 2nd so this series has some significance.
Game #1:  Randy Johnson pitched great but was removed after 6 shutout innings because of an injury for Blarney. Candioti’s knuckle ball was great too 1 run in 7 innings. Ventura tied the game in the 7th with a homer and it stayed that way until the 11th, both teams scored in the 11th so it was tied 2-2 in the 12th. In the 13th again with a run, but Winnipeg came back after Smith with 2 runs. Winnipeg 4 Blarney 3 (12 innings)
Game #2:  Winnipeg was up 4-1 int he 9th but Blarney came back off Shaw and Beck to tie the game. It went extras again but this time Winnipeg’s Segui hit a 3 run homer in the 10th off Myers. Winnipeg 7 Blarney 4 (10 innings)
Game #3:  Winnipeg asked Schilling to save a tired pen and hold a 3-2 lead but he could not as Seitzer homers in the 10th. Blarney then won the game 4-3 in 10 innings.
Game #4:  Again Blarney hits Winnipeg hard scoring two runs in the 9th off Beck to take a 4-3 lead. But int he bottom of the 9th Harris blows it as Winnipeg scored 2 runs to get a walk off win. Crazy close game but 3 games in a row of extra innings ends in a 9th inning walkoff.
Game #5:  Greenwell has a monster game 2 triples and a homer driving in 4 runs. Amazing this game went 12 innings! Before Blarney scores 6 int he 12th to win 8-2
Game #6:  Again another extra innings game! Barbarie wins it in the 12th with a walk off homer for Winnipeg.
Game #7:  Amazing a game that was another 1 run game Winning and Schilling holds on to win 4-3. It did not go extra innings
Series Summary:  Wow what an even series 5 extra inning games and two 1 run games!.  Both teams scored 29 runs. Amazingly though the luck gods gave Winnipeg 5 wins to 2.
Steel City Sluggers @ Valdosta Bombers
Series Preview:  Steel City visits Valdosta in a battle of cellar dwellers.
Game #1:  Steel City 5-0. Mike Magnante allowed just 2 hits in 8 IP as the Sluggers roll.
Game #2:  Steel City 8-6 (14 Innings). The Sluggers rap out 20 hits enroute to the extra inning victory.
Game #3:  Steel City 6-0. Jamie Navaro with the 3 hit shutout. man do the Bombers stink!
Game #4:  Steel City 8-4. Charlie Hough (1-7, 6.68) gets lit up yet again.
Game #5:  Steel City 2-1 (10 Innings). John Smiley and Pat Hentgen pitched well but the Sluggers sneak by in 10.
Series Summary:  Sluggers sweep as the Bombers disastrous season continues.
Flossmoor Flying Squirrels @ Janesville Juggernauts
Series Preview:  First place Flossmoor visits the last place Juggernauts for a six game set.
Game #1:  FLOSSMOOR 6 JANESVILLE 5
A sloppy game with 5 errors, the Flying Squirrels come up on top; Maddux wins his fifth of the season.
Game #2:  FLOSSMOOR 7 JANESVILLE 4
J.KEY goes to 8-0 on the season.
Game #3:  FLOSSMOOR 5 JANESVILLE 2
And another Squirrel pitcher, David Cone, goes to 7-0 on the season.

Series Summary:  A sweep by the league leaders as Janesville looks to next year. Flossmoor will entertain Detroit at home next while the Juggernauts host Mexico City.

Game #1:  A 3-run HR by Alou caps a 4-run third and one of the newest Skeeters, Bret Saberhagen, pitches 8 2.3 shutout innings and Sugar land wins, 6-0.
Game #2:  Griffey’s 2-run double gets Sugar Land to a 5-1 lead and they hold on for a 6-4 win.
Game #3:  Mack and Sanders each have a HR and 3 RBI as the Grays roll, 14-6.
Game #4:  Sugar Land gets two in the 8th to win in their last at-bat, 4-2. Greene gets a ND, Poole the win in relief.
Game #5:  The other new Skeeter, Jose Deleon, blows the save but gets a vulture win when Griffey hit a walkoff solo HR in the bottom of the ninth
Series Summary:  Sugar Land wins four of five in a series that was much closer than that. Germantown has both formidable pitching and hitting and will continue to be fearsome.
