Game one between the teams actually is almost two-as it goes 15 innings before Janesville pulls it out winning 12-11. Rob Deer off the bench goes 2 for 4 with both hits being homers.

Game two is all Flossmoor, as 3 costly errors by the Juggernauts leads to 5 Flying Squirrels unearned runs, and they win it 13-1.

Cone for Flossmoor only goes .2 innings as Janesville jumps all over him, scoring 6 runs in the first, and go on to win game three 13-3.

Another extra inning affair, but this time the Flying Squirrels score the run and win it in the 10th inning 4-3.

Tim Wakefield goes 8 innings, and the Juggernauts take game five and the series lead by a score of 4-1.

Janesville insures the series win, taking game six again by a score of 4-1. Danny Neagle earns his 2nd win of the season pitching 7.1 innings giving up only an unearned run.

The final game of the series sees two great pitching performances from both teams, but Janesville, after giving up the tying run in the top of the ninth score the walk off victory in the bottom half and take game seven 3-2.

The Juggernauts take the series 5-2. Next up for Janesville is a road trip against the Eastern Division leading Fort Worth Panthers while Flossmoor goes home to face the Stockton Wings.

Manhattan jumped out to an early 5-0 lead and held on to win 6-3. They got 4 in the top of the 1st with Kreuter getting the key hit a 2 run 2B. Long Beach chipped away and got it to 5-3 but Livingstone added an insurance run with a RBI 2B in the 7th. Welch went 7 strong innings to pick up the win.

What a pitcher’s duel! Guzman didn’t give up a hit until the 7th and only 1 through 8. In the 9th Farr came in and gave up a 2 run 2B to Livingstone for all the runs Reed would need in the Gas Hornets 2-0 win. Reed went the distance and gave up just 2 hits as he improved to 4-0.

Manhattan broke up a 2-2 tie with 3 in the 5th on their way to an 8-2 win. Polonia, Huson & Walker had consecutive 2 out RBI 1Bs to key the rally. Huson had 3 RBI for the game to lead the Gas Hornets offense.

Long Beach continues to struggle to put together rallies. In this game, they used a 2 run HR from Justice and a solo shot by Vaughn to win 3-1. Viola gave up 3 hits over 7 innings and improved to 4-1.

Stewart pitched 7 1/3 innings of shutout ball in Manhattan’s 3-0 win. Martinez had 2 RBI and Fermin 3 hits to lead the offense.
