Mexico City  Chihuahuas @ Flossmoor  Flying Squirrels
Preview
After Flossmoor wins a makeup game in Mexico City, the Chihuahuas travel north to Flossmoor for an eight game series with the Flying Squirrels including a makeup double-header.
Rain Make up from 8/19

Flossmoor wins it 7-1 behind 8 strong innings from Rick Sutcliffe and homers from Puckett and Bagwell.

Game #1:
It was a 1-1 game headed to the 6th inning when Mexico City breaks out against Greg Hibbard scoring 3 runs with two outs.
They then tack on 2 more in the 7th against Charlton.
Flossmoor scores two in the 9th to chase Bosio and brings the tying run to the plate in the form of pinch hitter Dante Bichette, but Russell gets him to line out to end the game. Mexico City wins it 6-3. Bosio improves to 17-10, Hibbard falls to 10-9.
Game #2:
Disastrous first inning for Cone, who gives up five runs and puts the home team in a deep hole early.
Then four infield hits and a wild pitch lead to a 3 run second and Cone hits the showers early. Not what the Squirrels needed from their number two.
The rout was on from there as Mexico City pounds out 22 hits and scores 16 runs to win it easily.
Game #3:
Scoreless to the 5th when the home side breaks through. Teuffel brings home a run with an RBI single and then Bernie Williams knocks in two more to chase the starter McDonald. In the 6th the Squirrels load the bases with one out and Mexico City goes to the pen for Campbell, who then walks in two runs. Another run scores on a fielders choice to make it 6-0 FFS. Maddux goes the distance for the complete game shutout.
Game #4:
Pitchers duel to the 7th with neither team able to muster much. In the bottom of the 7th its Dante Bichette coming up with a clutch two out, three run homer to break the scoreless tie. Jeffriess then gets the Taco Bell Dogs on the board with a lead off homer in the 8th. Boddicker gives way to Osuna who puts them down to retire the side. In the bottom of the 8th with two outs Puckett singles, steals second, and scores on Gant’s single.
Olson comes in for the 9th and works through some traffic for the save.
Game #5: Squirrels get on the board in the first with a three run homer from Harold Baines and a solo shot from Fryman.
But Mexico City answers with a five run second inning.
Squirrels tie it in the 4th on a double from Karkovice and take the lead on a sac fly from Weiss.
Flossmoor then cuts down the tying run in the 5th on a great throw from Puckett to nail Gruber.
Puckett then steps up to lead off the bottom of the inning and goes yard. Teuffel brings home another with a two out single.
Flossmoor adds three more in the 7th, with Teuffel’s homer the capper.
Puckett goes deep again in the 8th to add to more. Flossmoor wins it easily to sweep the double header.
Game #6: Big third inning for Mexico City thanks to Mattingly’s grand salami off Sutcliffe. 6-0 Little Dogs.
Flossmoor comes back with four in the bottom of the inning to get back in the game.
Mexico City gets another in the top of the 4th to make it 7-4.
An error on Mattingly opens the door for Flossmoor in the bottom of the inning and they score two to make it a one run game.
Blowers homers in the 6th to extend the Mexico City lead to two. And then Hall wins the lefty lefty matchup against Honeycut with a two run homer. 10-6 visitors.
Squirrels get two in the bottom of the inning to make it 10-8.
Another run in the 7th for Mexico City.
Flossmoor gets the run back in the bottom of the inning but Swift gets Baines to fly out to leave the bases loaded.
Russell comes in for the final four outs and Mexico City wins a wild one 11-9.
Game #7:
Two in the first for the visitors off Cone and he continues his awful series getting tagged for 6 runs in 5.2 innings.
Flossmoor battles back and gets it to 6-4 and brings the tying run to the plate in the 9th three times but cant do anything against Russell. Baines flies out to the wall to end it.
Game #8:
Teufel opens the scoring with a solo shot in the first.
Squirrels add another in the 5th on Williams’ double.
In the 7th Sasser leads off with a single, Morandini pinch runs,
steals second, and scores on Bichette’s single. Weiss then doubles home Dante and scores on a fielders choice.
That was plenty as Hibbard scatters 10 hits through 8 scoreless innings for the win.
Summar The series is a split four games to four. Counting the game in Mexico the Squirrels took 5 of 9. That is not going to get it done for Flossmoor and their hopes of catching Portland in the division lead.

Clovis  Cougars @ Sugar Land  Skeeters
Preview
Clovis comes to visit NL East Champs Sugar Land, who will probably be trying to rest some regulars.
Game #1:
A rare bad start for Langston, who gives up a 3-run shot to Tony Pena on his last pitch of the game. 6-3 Clovis.
Game #2:
Sugar Land September call-up Alvarez is roughed up for four runs in four innings; it could have been worse as he gave up seven hits and walked four. Clovis flame-thrower Randy Johnson is stellar other than a four-run fifth, with 11 Ks in 6.2 IP. Bill Doran hits a go-ahead PH solo HR off Lee Smith in the ninth but an itchy Howe allows a PH solo shot to Pulliam. Orlando Merced hits a walk-off solo shot in the bottom of the ninth for the winner. 6-5 SLS.
Game #3:
Randy Ready walks four times and scores twice as Tapani and the bullpen cruise to a 5-1 SLS win.
Game #4:
Tommy Greene allows just two unearned over seven as SLS wins 3-2.
Game #5:

PERFECT GAME ALERT>

Bud Black retires all 27 Skeeters as Clovis wins, 3-0.

Summary
Sugar Land wins three of five but I’m guessing Black has the Pitcher of the Week wrapped up after the perfect game!
