Game #3:
The two teams combine for as many runs as hits. However, California gets gifted 4 unearned runs as Montana gives game away. Solid pitching on both sides. FINAL – CAL 5 MCT 1
Game #4:
Canseco and Horn exchange 2-run HRs early in game. Score remains that way until 8th when Duncan solo HR gives Montana 3-2 lead. O’Neill ties it in the 9th with 2-out RBI single. To extras we go….Harper RBI single wins it for Montana in 11th.
FINAL – MCT 4 CAL 3 (11 innings)
Game #5:
Another close game….that is until Johnson’s 3-run HR in the 6th. Or so we thought…Montana scores 4 in the bottom of the 7th to tie the game. Montana then loads the bases with 2 outs in the 9th and Smith boots a groundball to give Montana the win.

Saberhagen dominates and only allows 2 unearned runs.
FINAL – CAL 7 MCT 2
Game #7:
The rubber match! Scoreless game until the 4th when Canseco and Johnson go back to back with solo HRs. Pendleton hits another solo shot in the 7th for a 3-0 Quakes lead. However, Montana doesn’t go quietly as Burks doubles home 2 in the bottom half. But the rally falls short….
FINAL – CAL 3 MCT 2
Summary
California wins the final two games to take the series 4 games to 3. Montana is just happy to have home games again. Star of the series is probably Saberhagen who goes 17 innings in the series without giving up an earned run on only 9 hits against.
