Mark Portugal 10-7 4.17 for Bears vs Greg Maddux 10-15 3.98 for Tigers. This one is a pitching duel, and Portugal won it with a 1-hit complete game shutout! Tigers win 1-0.

Mike Boddicker 10-13 3.65 for Bears vs Charlie Hough 4-16 6.12 for Tigers Hough desperately trying to get to 20 loses for the Tigers, fails despite leaving with a 3 run deficit. Tigers explode for 5 runs in the 7th to get the 6-4 win.
Game #6:
Greg Swindell 8-9 5.17 for Bears vs David West 5-17 6.43 fro Tigers West is another Tiger pitcher edging toward 20 losses. Bears win a close one 4-2. West doesn’t get the loss. Jordan is injured for 14 days for the Tigers.
Game #7:
Bobby Witt 10-8 3.36 vs Ken Hill 0-1 3.90 for Tigers Runs? Runs? Has anyone got the runs? For sixteen straight innings, neither the Tigers nor the Bears could put a scratch on the board. In the 17th the Bears wake from their hibernation and put 4 on the board for a 4-0 win behind a Blauser 3-run HR. Will Clark has a 19 game hitting streak snapped. Hill pitches 11 shutout innings!

Some how Winnipeg has gotten hot and moved out of last place taking 4 of 7 vs the divisions best team. Winnipeg won their 63 game and will not lose 100 at least. Steel City got stuck on 99 wins but will easily make the playoffs,

Life hands you Lemon, let him hit it out of the park. Clovis leading by 1 with two outs in the ninth and a pair of runners on and Lemon blasts Smith’s offering over the fence for the game winner
Game #2:
Cougars come back for a 1-0 win behind a surprisingly effective John Smiley. Cougars scored winning run in the bottom of the eighth on Dan Gladden’s sac fly.
Game #3:
Titans win it 7-6. Braggs with a three run blast and Lemon, who else, with a ninth inning homer that proved the difference.
Game #4:
Reed doubles in a pair in the 7th to break a 4-4 tie and give Clovis the win.
Game #5:
Wells out duels Viola for 3-0 Cougars win. Cougars scored one each in the first two innings and cruised after that. Myers walked a pair in the ninth but struck out Justice and Inky to preserve the win.
Game #6:
Clovis bats explode for 11-0 win. Henderson homered and drove home 5 while Randy Johnson nailed down the complete game shutout with 12 strikeouts.
Game #7:
Gantner tripled in Greenwell with two outs in the bottom of the tenth to give Cougars 5-4 win. It was the fourth straight win for Clovis who took the series 5 games to 2.
Summary
Clovis takes 5 of 7 from a tough Long Beach team. With the season winding down Clovis heads to Sugar Land while Long Beach will have to try to make up ground against first place Steel City.
