Clovis’ speed and a big fly from Hamilton coupled with stellar pitching from Scott Bankhead spelled an easy 8-0 Clovis win. Henderson stole an early run in the first and Hamilton cleared the right field fence in the third for a three run homer to give the Cougars an unsurmountable lead and chase Finley one of the rare times this season.
Game #4: A marquee matchup between John Smoltz and the very hot Ken Howell.  Greenwell homered in the first for an early Clovis lead but Michigan answered with a three spot in the second highlighted by Wilkerson’s 2 run triple. Clovis took advantage of below average arms in the  outfield to score a pair in the bottom of the second and tie it up. Greenwell hits one out for his third homer of the series to put Clovis up  4-3 in the third. After that Howell settled down and the Cougars continued to chip away until Myers pitched a perfect ninth to close out a 7-3 win for the Cougars. Howell improves to 10-7 while Smoltz drops to 10-12.

Game #7:
Willie Wilson picked an opportune time for his first homer of the season when he deposited one into left field with 2 runners on in the 2nd to give John Smiley and Clovis all they would need for a 4-1 win and the 7 game sweep of rival Germantown. Wilson continues to hit well above expectation, raising his average to .323 for the season. Smiley improved to 11-8 while Aguilera dropped to 7-8 on the season.
