Game #1:
Six different Panthers drive in a run and rookie pithcer Abbott allows one run through 7.

Game #2:
Darling gets hit hard in 5 innings as both Wilson and Burks drive home 3 runs. Burks had a three-run homer for Montana. The 14 game home winning streak comes to and end for Ft. Worth as the Cutthroats hold off the Panthers, who scored the last 4 runs of the game.

Game #3:
Innis allows a couple of inherited runners score in the 8th, but Ft. Worth holds off the Cutthroats.

Game #4:
A quartet of Panthers each drive in a run including McGriff with his 12 home run of the season and Holman allows only 1 run in 6 innnings.

Game #5:
Panthers score 4 in the 4th and Montana scores 3 in the 5th. Somehow Wegman survivives to win his 3rd game. Probably helps that he has a great bullpen and offensive giving him SUP/9 of 7.4.

Game #6:
Abbott goes 8 strong innings for the Panthers, but he also allows 7 runs (6 earned) as Montana gets their 2nd wind of the series.

Game #7:
Darling looks much better in his 2nd start of the series allowing one run through 7 while striking out 5. The Panther’s offense lashes out 16 hits. The only negative for this game for Ft. Worth was Lonnie Smith going down with an injury for 8 days.

Chicago scores like they vote: early and often. three different 4-run innings wear out the Wings. Stockton scored six runs (four unearned) in the ninth to make it look closer than it was. E. Davis and Strawberry both had 3-run homers, Scioscia added a 2-run shot. Sespite the 9th inning issues, Drabek went all the way.

Stockton gets a gem from Navarro, who saves the exhausted bullpen with a complete game. Hrbek’s 2-run double is the big blow for Stockton.

Stockton wastes a pair of two-homer performances by Larkin and Tettleton as Stieb goes seven and strikes out 10 for Chicago.

Clemesn outduels Dopson in a battle of complete games. Clemens only gave up two hits, stiking out seven.Larkin’s 2-run double and Daniels’ 2-run HR give Dopson the tough-luck loss.

Hershiser didn’t pitch as well as his previous outing, but didn’t need to. Young drops to 0-7 for Stockton. Brett had three RBI, while Strawberry had two hits, two RBI, and two runs.

HR: Strawberry

Demolition roll as Boggs goes 5-5 with 3 RBI to lead the offensive juggernaut for Chicago. Guillen and G. Young each go 2-3 with 2 runs scored. Young added three RBI. Drabek left the game in the 1st and is out for 3 games.

Series Preview
4th place Goldeyes head west to take on third place Clovis.

12 innings Goldeyes 1-0 win. Glavine masterful over 11 to earn the well deserved win.
Game #2:
15 inning 1-0 Goldeye win. Tremendous back to back wins for Winnipeg this time Moyer, Eave, and Tibbs combine for the whitewash.
Game #3:
Clovis 11-2. Greenwell drives home 3 to get the Cougars into the win category for the series.
Game #4:
Clovis 2-0. Howell’s two run blast in the bottom of the ninth evens up the series for Clovis.
Game #5:
Clovis 2-0. McCaskill tosses the complete game shutout to put Clovis up 3-2 in the series.
Game #6:
Goldeyes 3-2. Winnipeg evens the series on Jeffries run scoring double in the seventh, Eave again masterful with 3 strong innings for the win.
Game #7:
Goldeyes 5-2. Winnipeg takes the series after exploding for 5 in the ninth taking advantage of a sloppy Clovis defense.

Each team hurls back to back shutouts but the Goldeyes come out on top for a 4-3 series win
