Series Preview

An eight game match up between the Stars and the Juggernauts. Detroit comes in at 60-53 while the Juggernauts are reeling in the midst of a 12 game losing streak, with a record of 45-71.

Game #1:

The Stars shine as they take the opening game of the series 9-2. Perez is masterful for Detroit going the distance with 5 K’s.

Game #2:

Detroit takes a close game, 3-1, extending Janesville losing streak to 14 games. A quality start by Tudor is wasted as he is outdueled by Jackson of the Stars.

Game #3:

Welch comes through for the Juggernauts, ending the teams losing streak. He goes the distance, scattering 4 hits in a 2-0 Janesville win.

Game #4:

The Juggernauts bats come alive in game 4, as they pound out 14 hits in a 10-3 win. Dave Palmer wins his first game of the season, going 8.2 innings with 9 K’s and 3 walks. Series now tied at 2-2.

Game #5:

Detroit pays back the favor by rapping 26 hits and 16 runs in a 16-4 pounding of the Juggernauts. Butler goes 5-7 with 4 RBI’s for the Stars, while Deleon pitches 8 strong innings.

Game #6:

Janesville comes back with a beautiful pitching performance by Show, as he goes the 9 innings in a 4-0 Juggernaut win. Trammel was the hero for Janesville, with a pinch hit 3 run homer in the 7th to seal the victory and a 3-3 series tie.

Game #7:

Jackson improves to 16-4 on the season, as Detroit takes game seven 4-1. Tudor goes the distance in the loss.

Game 8 of the series is rained out.

Detroit wins the series 4-3 with strong hitting and pitching, while Janesville breaks the losing streak.

Traverse City Tigers @ Chicago Demolition

Series Preview

First Place in the American League West visited First Place in the American League East.

Game #1:

Four late inning runs in the 7th pulled the Tigers ahead & the bullpen did a great job for the Tigers. Home Runs for Traverse City included Johnny Ray, Joe Carter & Jessie Barfield. Chicagohad Home Runs from Kal Daniels, Ken Phelps & Darryl Strawberry, but it wasn’t enough as the Tigers took game #1
Final Score: Traverse City 6 – Chicago 5

Game #2:

Greg Maddux (12-9 3.17) got bounced early from the contest for the Tigers, and his counter part Orel Hershiser (17-6 2.48) was solid through 6 innings of play. Every player in the lineup for Chicago had an RBI (Kal Daniels 2). A slew of itchy bullpen arms made it’s way though the Tigers line up and Chicago ended up on top.

Game #3:

RBI’s by Joe Carter & Dave Winfield were all that Bob Knepper (12-5 3.32) need through 6 innings. Brian Holton, Juan Agosto & Doug Jones (30th Save) shut-out the Demolition.
Final Score: Traverse City 2 – Chicago 0

Game #4:

After a rare day off in the series Chicago bounced back to tie the series at 2 games each. George Brett’s 3 run Home Run in the 5th was the big blow for Chicago.
Final Score: Chicago 4 – Traverse City 3

Game #5:

3 runs off Chicago closer Dennis Eckersley left a bad taste in the mouth for the Chicago faithful. Traverse City takes the final game:
