Gold River @ Long Beach - Gold River
visits Long Beach for a 5 game series with the Titans. Long beach
won 4 of the 5 games to move over 500. Game 1: Long Beach had a 4-1 lead in the 7th and seemed to be cruising behind Schatzeder. But Gold River scored 2 in the 8th and had runners on 2nd and 3rd but couldn't get the tying run home. Sambito closed out the 9th to save the 4-3 win. Game 2: Typical Ryan start. He was dominate through 4 innings but gave up a 2 run HR to Wohlford in the 5th and Gold River won 4-2. Curtis pitched a 4 hit CG for the win. Game 3: The Long Beach bats came alive as they used 5 and 7 run innings to win 12-4. Paciorek led the way with 2 HRs and 6 RBI. Game 4: Gold River took a 2-1 lead in the 2nd on a Flanagan 2 run 1B. Long Beach took the lead for good in the 6th on a Lezcano 2 run HR. Sambito got the last out to save the 3-2 win. Game 5: Schatzeder pitched a 3 hit shut out in the 4-0 win. Baker and Burleson hit HRs to lead the offense. |
