Vermont Foresters
Weekly Preview: only 1 home game for the foresters as philadelphia takes a ride up north to the ben and jerrys center.
Philadelphia Firebirds @ Vermont Foresters the foresters will be without star mark howe as he gets a game off for an unspecified reason. after an uneventful and scoreless 1st period, the wild momentum swings that have been a characteristic of vermonts season begin in the 2nd. reggie leach and mike foligno both score their 14th goals less then a minute apart early in the period. less then 2 minutes later rod langway cuts the lead in half getting a shot past grahame. then mel bridgeman ties the score at the 12:09 mark. it doesnt stay tied long as dave keon gets his 1st of the year just 15 seconds later giving the visiting firebirds a 3-2 lead. the 3rd period begins with reggie leach scoring his second of the game at the 2:57 mark. morris lukowich nets his 15th at the midpoint of the final period putting the foresters back on top. another bad bob murray penalty with just over 2 minutes left and bobby schmautz ties it with less then a minute to go for another kiss to vermonts sister. grahame had 31 saves for vermont while wayne stephenson stopped 32 for the visitors. kent nilsson tallied 3 more assists for the foresters.

CapJack Rangers
Weekly Preview: 2 home games against Saint Croix Falls Lumberjacks.
CapJack – LumberJacks, I could say there will be a lot of j***ing off this week, but I won’t.
Saint Croix Falls Lumberjacks @ CapJack Rangers Game 1 belongs to the Lumberjacks – in a BIG way as they skate to a 7-2 blowout. Rangers took early 1-0 lead, the 7 straight Saint Croix goals stole the show. Payne the big weapon as he records the Hat Trick.
STARS (all Lumberjacks of course):
1. Payne 3 goals
2. Clarke 1 goal, 3 assists
3. Sims 3 assists
Saint Croix Falls Lumberjacks @ CapJack Rangers This time it was the Rangers who won the day and the game – but not as potent as the previous tilt. Rangers score 1st again, then Lumberjacks, then the Rangers, then the Lumberjacks, then the Rangers. Oddity – Rangers score at 15:04 in the 2nd AND 3rd periods. Shutt records 2 goals. FINAL 3-2 Rangers.
STARS (all Rangers)
1. Shutt 2 goals

Mackinac Island Moose
Weekly Preview: The Moose (8-12-4) host Charlestown (6-15-3) and powerhouse Vermont (14-3-7), losers of only 3 games in 24 matchups.
Charlestown Chiefs @ Mackinac Island Moose The Chiefs come out much stronger than their record indicates, getting a poweplay goal (Gradin) and even strength goal (McDonald) in the 1st period to take a 2-0 lead into intermission. The home team responds with a goal by Barber to cut the lead to 1, but Ruskowski and Miller respond for the visitors to push the lead out to 3 before the Moose convert a powerplay (Bobby Hull) to get the game to 4-2 Chiefs at the end of 2. Zanussi on the powerplay cuts the lead to 1 early in the 3rd and with the Moose thinking game-on, spirits in the arena are up. But Anders Kallur had other ideas and quickly runs off with a breakaway and makes the game 5-3 Chiefs. 15 more minutes of spirited play results in no scores, and the Chiefs leave with the win.

1st star McDonald 1g1a

2nd star Gradin 1g

3rd star Ruskowski 1g

Vermont Foresters @ Mackinac Island Moose Vermont dominates the 1st 30 minutes and the Moose dominate the last 30 minutes resulting in a 3-3 tie. McCourt, Nilsson and Foligno propel the Foresters to a 3-0 lead at halftime, only to see Zanussi, Sheppard and Barber respond, the last one with the Moose pulling the goalie the last 2 minutes for the advantage and equalizer.
1st star Barber 1g1a2nd star Sheppard 1g3rd star Nilsson 1g
Weekly Summary: After getting pounded by Charlestown, it was a good comeback to squeeze a tie against the best record in the league (Vermont). But only 1 point in 2 home games will not see the team climb out of the cellar.

Saint Croix Falls Lumberjacks
Weekly Preview: Saint Croix Falls will play SanDiego. Capjack was schedule, however due to a unforeseen problem wasn’t able to play.
San Diego Mariners @ Saint Croix Falls Lumberjacks San Diego 6 Saint Croix Falls 2
Star #1 Zuke
Star #2 Holmgren
Star #3 Smith
Weekly Summary: Saint Croix Falls is near

Pittsburgh Spirit
Weekly Preview: On the heels of two road wins BOTH by a score of 7-0, Pittsburgh tries to ride the wave.
Syracuse Bulldogs @ Pittsburgh Spirit Bulldogs and Spirit skate to an exciting 5-5 tie. Pittsburgh scores at 19:49 with the goalie pulled to force the tie.
St. Clair Shores Saints @ Pittsburgh Spirit The Shores score the first goal at 1:40 of the 1st, but that would be all the muster as Pittsburgh notches 4 unanswered goals to skate to a 4-1 win.
Weekly Summary: Pittsburgh gets 3 of 4 home points. With two road wins, not a bad week at all.
