PLAYOFF QUARTER FINAL MATCH UP
  Syracuse BulldogsSt. Clair Shores SaintsThe red hot Saint Clair Shores Saints travel to upstate New York to take on the always tough Syracuse Bulldogs in the first round of the inaugural MWOTHL.

GAME #1 The Bulldogs dominate in shots, swarming the visiting Saints. Shores goalie Mike Liut had his game face on and survived the attack. St. Clair Shores quiets the frenzied crowd and wins the game 4-2.

GAME #2 Syracuse knows it can’t survive the series if they lose the first 2 at home. This one started out slow and was tied 1-1 after 2. The home team survives an empty net flurry and hold on 3-2.

  The series heads over to the Saints backyard with a tied series 1-1.

The Saints return home to play the Bulldogs. The Series is tied at 1.

GAME #3 Early in the first, the Bulldogs get on the board with a Boldirev goal. The Saints close out the 1st period by getting goals of their own. Bordeleau scores and then, Marsh scores on a power play goal. Its 2-1, SCS after 1 period.

In the 2nd, there is no scoring. The Saints nurse a 1 goal lead going into the 3rd.

At the 1:41 mark, Propp scores his first goal of the playoffs. Its tied, 2-2. 2 minutes go by, and Duguay scores his 1st of the playoffs, and the Shores go back up by one goal. Then, with 7 minutes to go, Syracuse scores on a Derlago goal. Its tied 3-3. With 4:22 to go, Babych scores his 1st goal of the playoffs for Saints. The Bulldogs put on a charge, but the Saints score an empty netter with 4 seconds to go. Kelly gets credit for the goal.

2nd – Bordeleau 1 goal, 1 assist
3rd – Babych 1 goal.

The Saints get the grinders to get some goals and prevail.

GAME #4 The Saints lead, 2 games to 1 as we play game 4.

The Saints get ahead very early. Errol Thompson scores on a breakaway on the first shot of the game. Halfway through the 1st, Ulf Nilsson scores a goal and the Saints are up, 2-0.

No goals in the second, just like game 2.

Then, its a stunning 3rd, as the Bulldogs score 3 goals in a row. Boldirev, Murdoch, and Larouche score for Syracuse. It looks like the Bulldogs will tie the series. But, out of nowhere, Ftorek scores with 2:19 to go in the game. Its a tie game. Then, Ververgaert scores on a wrap around to tie the game with 1:04 to go. Now, the Bulldogs are stunned. With the goalie pulled, the Bulldogs do not score.

  In very close games, the Saints were able to narrowly win games 3 and 4. The series goes back to Syracuse. The Saints are ready for game 5.

Syracuse has their backs against the walls as the red hot Saints try to end the Bulldogs season

GAME #5 The Saints manage only 4 first period shots. Fortunately for them two go in. SCS led 2-0 after 1.
Period 2 was all Syracuse. They tie it up at 2.
No scoring until 3 minutes were left in the game. The Saint Claire Shores score and hold on 3-2. Congrats to the Saints. Good luck in the next round.
