MWHL NEW FRANCHISES & COMMISSIONERS OFFICE CHANGES

Press Release – 06/13/2017 

Franchise Changes:

Today the Mid-West Hockey League announced some changes to the League in structure of Franchises for the 2017/2018 MWHL Season.  

New in 2017/2018 will be the following four Franchises – Toledo Walleye, Bucks County Raccoons, Clearfield Bison & the Gilbert Sharks.

Commissioner’s Office News:

Also changing in the 2017/2018 MWHL Season will be the Commissioner Office as the MWHL will welcome John Niespodzianski into the mix as a Co-Commissioner.  

John Niespodzianski who owns the Jagr Mullets in the MWHL, will take on the roll as Co-Commissioner & is a veteran Commissioner of multiple (7 we believe) Baseball Leagues.  John will be taking over the files part of the MWHL, & many other roles that will be announced as they roll out.

As for the Commissioner’s Office, it’s now a four (4) headed monster.  

Stray Corrado will continue his role as webmaster, Draft Coordinator & stay on as a Co-Commissioner in efforts to making the Mid-West Hockey League a truly great experience for everyone..  

Mike Haley will continue to be the Commissioner’s Office right hand man with a multitude of duties (Way too many to list) – & continue his efforts into maintaining keep the MWHL on schedule & in a timely manner.

Bill Schindel will be handling the duties of Director of Contracts & Salary Cap Compliance. Bill will be getting contracts together in the next few weeks giving us all a chance to see who’s being signed to deals as we head forward into the 2017/2018 MWHL Season.  


Dispersal Draft News:

The Brasher Falls Lightning & the Gilbert Sharks are in the beginning stages of Dispersal Draft “B”, which will form their rosters (These players will come from the rosters of the Second City Chiefs & the Scottsdale X-Men).  Once these rosters are concluded the Lightning & Sharks will have one week to sign players to early contracts (They can sign only the average number of players from all existing MWHL Franchises).
