CONNECTICUT FRANCHISE FOLDS WELCOME THE EAST ERIE LAKE STORM

For Immediate Release
March 3, 2000

Detroit Michigan – In a long talked about change of scenery the Connecticut Eulers, packed their bags and headed west.   Not too far west, but they have moved on.   Connecticut owner & General Manager Craig Merriman was quoted as saying “Life’s responsibilities were taking its toll on me, and I think that transferring the team into new ownership would be in the clubs best interest”.  An owner and General Manager were sought for a few weeks, and after a very select screening process a new owner was named on Thursday March 3rd, 2000.   Chris Roman, has purchased the Mid-West Baseball League Franchise.   Roman, packed the team up in the middle of the night, and moved it to just east of Lake Erie Ohio.  The franchise selected the nickname of the Storm, for all the heavy downpours the area has seen in the recent years.  Expect more than a fair share of rainouts in East Erie Lake.
