NORTHRIDGE AND SANTA FE MAKE BIG DEAL

Fox Sports West —  Los Angeles  – The Northridge Quakes and the Santa Fe Devils complete a 10 player trade late Sunday night.  A homecoming for four former Quakes as Wilson Alvarez, Brian McRae, Kevin Millwood, and Dan Wilson rejoin their former team.  Also coming along for the ride is defensive wizard Omar Vizquel.  Heading out of Northridge on the bus are staff ace John Smoltz, Royce Clayton, Rusty Greer, Tom Prince, Chad Fox and their 4th round pick (via Tempe).  Smoltz had this to say, “I knew my time was coming, the rumors had been swirling for a while, I’m just glad I went to a possible playoff contender.”  The Northridge GM was unavailable for comment, and the owner is still trying to convince the fans that the team will still be competitive this season.

Northridge Receives:  Kevin Millwood, Wilson Alvarez, Omar Vizquel, Dan Wilson, Brian McRae.
Santa Fe Receives:  John Smoltz, Rusty Greer, Royce Clayton, Chad Fox, Tom Prince, Tempe’s 4th Round Pick in 2000
