2012 NATIONAL LEAGUE WILD CARD ROUND

The Camarillo Quest, heavily favored and touting potential MVP bats Jose Bautista and Joey Votto, came out flat the entire series and failed to take advantage of the home field advantage – dropping the series 2 games to 1 to West Coast Swing (whose bats were swinging early and often in the series).

 Game 1: West Coast 4 Camarillo 1

Leading 1 to 0 going into the sixth inning – with ace CJ Wilson cruising – Michael Cuddyer and Chase Utley both go yard, scoring in three consecutive innings to win going away 4 to 1.  Bautista and Votto were a combined 1 for 7 in the game.

 Game 2: Camairllo 5 West Coast 3

Votto and Bautista homered early to give Camarillo the lead and just enough to hold on to the 5 to 3 victory.

 Game 3: West  Coast 5 Camarillo 1

Cuddyer, Cuddyer, Cuddyer – who?  He homers again – his third of the series.  West Coast took an early lead and never looked back.  Camarillo never really challenged in this one.  Bautista and Votto goes 1 for 7 again and Bautista bats .091 in the series with no walks (despite 132 walks in real life).
