Game #4: The Bats went putting the ball in play for the Crushers, but it was mainly singles. Marcus Stroman went 8.1 Innings allowing 10 Hits, 1 Walk, while Striking Out 6 for the Mobsters. Freddie Freeman had a 3-Run Home Run in the 7th & that was enough for Chicago to pick up a win for the first time in the Series.

Game #5: Buster Posey had an RBI & Dexter Fowler had 2 RBI’s & a Run Scored. But the story of the game was Kohl Stewart who had a No-Hitter entering the 9th. After getting the first out of the Inning Stewart let up a Double to Cesar Hernandez before Manager Stray Corrado came out to get him. The Home Crowd was actually rooting for Stewart & “Booed” Corrado as he came out to get Stewart. Aroldis Chapman allowe Hernandez to score but secured the win with a 2-Out Save.

Game #6: The bats were very cold for two games in a row for the Crushers. This game was Carlos Matias Martinez game, even so he was effectively wild. Martinez went 8 Innings allowing only 1 Hit, no Runs, 6 Walks, while Fanning 12 Crushers along the way.

Series Summary: The series is split 3-3. Poor pitching (again) allowed Long Beach to come from behind to win 2 games that could easily been won by Jersey.

Series Preview: Portland’s premium starters face Tempe’s mashers.
Game #1: JD Martinez three run Home Run in the first gave Chacin all he needed.
Tempe 4-1
Game #2: Gomez started the game off with a homerun, triple and single, but failed to get another hit in his next four AB. Longoria also went long for Portland. Casali and Miggy has rbi singles for Tempe. The score was tied 2-2 from the 7th to the 16th. Tempe loaded the bases with two out in the 12th. Portland had bases loaded with no outs in the 14th, but rookie Castillo got two strikeouts and then a ground out. Portland put runners on the corners in the 16th with no outs, but Tempe’s last available pitcher Miley (game five starter) found a way out of the jam. In the bottom of the 16th, Beef Wellington crushed a walkoff two run homerun.

Game #3: Mikolas hit a homerun and pitched a complete game shutout.

Game #4: RBI doubles by Franco and Brantly. Kluber complete game shutout.

Game #5: Conferto RBI single in the first gave Portland their first lead of the series since game one. Ozuna two run hr and Albies two run rbi single put the game out of reach. Miley pitched seven solid innings for his second win of the series.
Tempe 5-3
Game #6: Chacin improved to 13-0 on the season picking up his second win of the series.
Tempe 4-1
Series Summary: Portland’s pitching definitely limited Tempe’s offensive production, but their offense was horrible. The Lumber Jax only scored seven runs in sixty one innings as Tempe completed the sweep.

Southbend  Lynx @ Tijuana  Bottle Rockets

Series Preview: Southbend travels into Tijuana for a 6 game series. Southbend is riding a 12 game win streak, the longest in franchise history.
Game #1: SBL Escobar opens the scoring with a sac fly in the B1 and adds 2 more with a 2-run 1b in the T2. SBL Canha hits a solo-HR in the T3. TIJ gets back in it in the B3 with a McKinney 2-run HR. SBL Cave rbi-1b in the T4 and a TIJ Happ rbi-1b in the B4 makes it 5-3 SBL. The SBL blow it open in the T5 with 4 runs, the big hit being a Trumbo 2-run HR. SBL add 1 more in T6 and TIJ plates one in the B8. SBL puts the game away with 4 in the T9. SBL Moya gets the win, Brach gets a 3 inning save.
SBL 14, TIJ 4
Game #2: SBL Lowrie hits a 2-run HR in the T3 for the early SBL lead. TIJ Valbuena hits a solo-HR in the B5 and Sanchez ties it with a solo-HR in the B6. TIJ takes the lead with 2 in the B7 on a Murphy 2-run HR. The lead was short lived as in the T8 SBL Altuve 1bs, Lowrie H&R 1b,
followed by a Muncy 3-run HR give the SBL a 5-4 lead. That would be the final score as Barnes picks up the win and Osuna gets his 37th save.
SBL 5, TIJ 4
Game #3: SBL jumps all over TIJ with 6 runs in the T2 and 4 in the T3. The big hits being Escobar’s 3-run 2b in the T2 and Lowrie’s 3-run HR in the T3. TIJ never recovers and SBL coasts hoem for the win. Mullins is TIJ offensive bright spot as he come on for Puig and goes 2-2 with 2 runs scored and a rbi. Blach gets the win and Brach gets another 3 inning save, his 4th on the year.
SBL 12, TIJ 4
Game #4: Offense galore in this game as both teams combine for 20 runs and 25 hits, 4 doubles, and 5 HRs. SBL is out to a 8-0 lead after 3 innings. Lowrie started the scoring with a rbi-2b in the T1. Scoring highlights in the T2 and T3 are Escobar’s 2-run 1b in the T2 and Lowrie and
Escobar’s rbi-1bs in the T3. Schebler gets TIJ on the board with a 3-run 2b in the B5. But the SBL just kept hitting as they added runs in the T5, T6, and T7. TIJ Schebler added to his fine day with a 2-run HR in the B5. Foltynewicz is roughed up but still picks up his 20th win on the season. SBL Bradley gets the 3 inning save, his 1st of the year.
SBL 13, TIJ 7
Game #5: SBL open the scoring again in the T1 on a M.Williams H&R rbi-2b. SBL add 2 more in the T4 on a Forsythe 2-run 1b. TIJ Schebler continues his hot hitting with an rbi-2b in the B4. Again the SBL answer with 3 in the T5 with a Trumbo 2-run HR and a Jackson rbi-1b. TIJ Happ hits a solo-HR in the B5. SBL and TIJ would both add 1 more run to close out the scoring. Holland gets the win and Osuna comes on for his 38th save when TIJ puts a couple of runners on base in the B9.
SBL 7, TIJ 3
Game #6: SBL Moya is the story in this game as he gets the CG Win giving up only 4 hits while fanning 12. TIJ lone run is a solo-HR by Puig in the B1. SBL put the game away early with Lowrie solo-HR in the T1 and 5 more in the T2. The big hit was a R.Martin 3-run HR in the T2. SBL get HRs from Lowrie, R.Martin, Cave, and Canha in the game.
SBL 8, TIJ 1
Series Summary: Southbend sweeps Tijuana and extends its win streak to 18 games! Southbend offense is too much for Tijuana pitching. Tijuana, at times, was able to score runs, just not enough of them.

Yonge Street  Stalkers @ Virginia  Sluggers

Series Preview: Two middle of the pack teams get together.
Game #1: VIR 1-0 W-Trevor Williams (11-9) L-Jose Alvarado (2-2)
Both starting pitchers (German and Williams)had no hitters going into the 9th and lost their no hit bids. Rafael Devers won it for VIR with a walk-off solo shot in the 10th.
Game #2: VIR 3-1 W-Luis Castillo (11-4) L-Yonny Chirinos (4-6) SV-Felipe Vazquez (24)
Yonge Street held VIR to 4 hits, but 3 of those produced runs. In spite of Scooter Gennett’s 4 for 4 effort, YSS could not get the hits it needed at the right time.
Game #3: VIR 8-2 W-Chris Archer (10-5) L- Ivan Nova (9-8)
Nick Markakis and Carlos Santana hit 2-run doubles in a 6-run 5th and Archer pitched 8 strong innings striking out 12 along the way.
Game #4: YSS 8-4 W-Gerrit Cole (19-4) L-Adam Plutko (4-5) SV-Jose Alvarado (7)
YSS pounds out 14 hits. Adam Frazier leads the way with 3 hits and 3 RBI with 2 home runs. Trea Turner, Kris Bryant, Eric Thames and Jason Heyward contriuted 2 hits apiece as YSS coasted to the win.
Game #5: YSS 3-2 W-Dylan Covey (6-11) L-Ryan Borucki (3-8) SV-Keone Kela (11)
RBI’s from Jason Heyward and Phillip Evans gave YSS a 3-2 lead in the 5th. The Stalkers bull-pen allowed 1 hit over the next 4 innings and kept VIR off the boards to preserve the victory.
Game #6: YSS 3-1 W-Robbie Erlin (8-6) L-Heath Fillmyer (5-5) SV-Keone Kela (12)
Jace Pederson singled, tripled, and drove in 2 runs to give YSS a win that gave them a split in the series at 3 games apiece.
Series Summary: Virginia won the first 3 games and Yonge Street won the last 3. Pretty much typical of two teams in the middle of the pack.

Corktown  Cycle @ Bethesda  Bandicoots

Game #1: Bethesda takes it 5-4 in 10 innings.
Game #2: Bethesda takes it 7-3.
Game #3: Another squeaker as Bethesda scores two in the bottom of the 7th to win 5-4.
Game #4: Two runs in the bottom of the 6th lifts Bethesda to a 4-2 win.
Game #5: Bethesda wins 7-0.
Game #6: Corktown scores one in the top of the 11th, but clutch pinch hits by David Peralta and Brad Miller in the bottom of the inning bring home two to lift Bethesda to a 6-5 win.
Series Summary: Bethesda sweeps but could easily have come out of this close series with just two wins out of six games.

Series Summary:  Triple Creek takes 4 of 6 from the Renegades.
