National League Division Series – Manhattan Project vs. Camarillo Quest

Series Preview:  Division Series – Manhattan Project vs Camarillo Quest – Can Jose Fernanez and Yu Darvish lead Manhattan to victory or will it be the big bats of Joey Votto, Jose Bautista and Brandon Moss?

Game #1: With Cy Young candidate CJ Wilson on the mound for Camarillo things looked good early – leading 5 to 1 going into the 8th inning. Wilson went 6 strong and was pulled to save his arm for later in the series. It almost back-fired and Manhattan scored 2 off the bat of Stephen Drew (who went 3 for 3 with 3 rbis in the game), but Camarillo held on to the 5 to 3 win.

Game #2: Stephen Drew as hot again – helping build a 4 to 1 lead going into the 8th inning for Manhattan – however home runs by Erik Aybar and Joey Votto in the bottom of the 8th lead to 4 big runs and capped the come from behind victory. Camarillo 5 Manhattan 4

Joey_VottoGame #3: Very good pitching performance early – with Camarillo holding a 2 to 1 leading going into the 6th inning. Manhattan decided to keep Kris Medlan in the game and they paid for it. 15 hits, 3 home runs (2 by Votto) and 12 runs later – Camarillo walked away with the 12 to 3 victory. Votto was 3 for 5 with 6 rbis in the game.

Game #4: Elimination game #1 – Yu Darvish was impressive – going 8 strong and allowing just 4 hits and 2 runs on his way to the Manhattan 4 to 2 victory.
